Names from the projected opening night roster missing today: Demko, Hughes, Sherwood, Desharnais, Joshua, Blueger, Garland, Suter. Lekkerimaki is in Washington DC for the NHLPA Rookie Showcase.

    More info from Batch:
    – Silovs and Patera out early working with Marko Torenius.
    – New Canucks skills and skating coach Jason Krog is running the informal skate.
    – Looks like Arshdeep Bains is changing numbers. He’s wearing Mats Sundin’s old number 13. (update on this: he changed it weeks ago as [announced here](https://x.com/abbycanucks/status/1823438643673096619?s=46&t=7fabqgtgp69dNA1d51vxFw))

Time to strip the C from Hughes. Absolutely ridiculous that he isn’t present for this skate and he isn’t a captain leading by example. Time to give the C to Miller instead.

    Hoglander and Forbort lol

I still occassionally laugh about the Big Mac meme from waayyyyy wayyyy back lol

  4. No Hughes ?? I knew he wasn’t captain material. Way to show a lack of leadership

Just the update I’ve been waiting for. Let’s go Canucks hockey!!

  6. I think y’all are going to appreciate Fobort as a solid, steady D man this year.

    – Jets fan who loves in Van with a the Canucks as their #2 team ❤️

All I want to say is, *hockey is back* and I am thrilled!

Seeing which skaters are on the ice before training camp is getting me all excited. Looking forward to some under-the-radar signings like Sprong. If he can be a fixture in the top 6 and Tocchet can get his defensive game up, then our depth rivals the best in the league.

Totally forgot we acquired half of these players ngl

Love the guy, but fully expecting DakJo to show up “out of shape” for camp again this year after a summer of bulking and swimming in money following his contract extension. Coach will call him out, media will run headlines, fan base will melt down, etc. But, looking ahead to spring 2025, that bulk will pay off. 😎

Does anyone know if this skate or any future skates are going to be open to the public?
