  1. u guys improved on D in Goal and Coaching …plus no more Captain Soft ..making playoffs easily..not sure how deep because no one knows that for any team

  2. 2021-2022: 115 points
    2022-2023: 111
    2023-2024: 102

2024-2025: Trajectory for 95ish point season.

    Ship is going down fast…

  3. This is a great regular season team. They are a lock to make the playoffs and will probably finish 2nd in the Atlantic. The only way they miss is if the goaltending falls apart or if two of the Big 4 are hurt for most of the year.

  4. If Bruins be where they should be the Leafs finish second. I can't see how every year Bruins are so high. For those stating they won't make the playoffs, maybe find a new sport to watch, maybe figure skating.

  5. The Leafs just took a page from the Blue Jays notebook. Sacrifice offense to bolster defense. We see how that's turned out for the Blue Jays. I'll be remembering this video in December when Toronto has lost 5 2-1 games in a row.

  6. Don't care. As long as they make the playoffs what difference does it make? Where they finish in the playoffs is the only metric I care about these days for the Maple Leafs

  7. Leafs should make the playoffs. Id give them an 80% chance this year. Last year a 90% chance. 2 years before 95%+ chance. I just dont know how they will do in the playoffs. Even though they just lost to Boston. I think Boston looks worse then last season where as the Leafs hopefully have a healthy Matthews and better offense. I think Tampa might have their number despite the Leafs beating them in 2022-23. I expext Vasy to get a bounce back year and Guentziel get a 50 goal year on that pp and line. Florida. Outside that top 6 and top 4. Their deph is really trash other then Lundell. And Bob is 35. Regression? Maybe the Leafs have a chance to beat them. I think they are also better then Buffalo Ottawa Detroit Montreal for sure. So to me. They have a shot best this year to make the ECF. But also the best chance to miss the playoffs. I think if they make the ECF they probably have the momentum to beat whoeever they face in that metro in a 7 game series. However Leafs fan. I see 0 world where you best Edmonton or Dallas or Colorado in the finals.

  8. Why the Leafs will miss the playoffs:
    1. Defense. Biggest addition is a 34 year old injury prone player that the fans want on the top pair. The team is an injury away of having Philippe Myers in the top 4. The second biggest addition is a 33 year old who has defensive warts to his game that will probably be paired with another player with defensive warts to his game in Liljegren.
    2. Goaltending. The team is relying on two players who have never played more than 30 games in a season to carry the load. That is a lot to ask in a market like Toronto. They are going to be facing the top teams and they are going to get exposed.
    3. Contract distractions. Marner and Tavares are just 2 of the players that will be a distraction. McCabe, Knies and Holmberg are also looking for new contracts. McCabe might not want to play on his off side during a contract year. Holmberg may not want to be scratched. Toronto media will be asking these guys questions about their play and contract status all year round.
    4. Apathy. Nylander and Matthews got paid. They (more Nylander than Matthews) have nothing to play for and will take nights off constantly. We all saw it last year. Once Nylander got the bag, his play trailed off. Do not expect another career year from him.

  9. Honestly, who cares where they end up in the standings? They're obviously making the playoffs, but regardless of what position they enter in, they have shown an inability to win.
Couldn't care less about the regular season. Guys gotta figure it out when it matters.

  10. You won’t need to score as many goals because you added 2 very very good defensive players. Your forwards will get a few more goals because Larson can move the puck better than any defensemen you’ve had in the last 20 years. Your still gonna lose in the first round but your team is about the same as last year, just in different ways

  11. If you look at their division its gonna be 4 teams fighting. Boston, Toronto Florida and Tampa. Yes Tampa doesnt have Stamkos but the still have elite talent. Now 3 of the 4 teams have pretty great goalies. The Leafs are getting wildcard I think

  12. Rangers are better, Florida is better, New Jersey is Better, Boston is Better, Carolina is better, Tampa is better, they’ll be fighting the Isles, and maybe Detroit/Washington

  13. Max domi is gonna score 40. I just feel it. 100 point domi if he's top line. Marner 112 if he's on a line that makes sense

  14. You guys can really shine a turd. I hope they miss the playoffs or if they somehow get in they have to face the bruins and get destroyed. 🖕🍁

  15. From outside TML looking in:

TBL traded Stamkos for Guentzel. The BEST they can hope for is for JG to REPLACE SS's points. But JG will not make TBL better. And TBL lost their 1B dman. TBL takes a step down.

Boston lost their 1B GT. Boston lived off their GT tandem and that tandem is gone. A step back for Boston also.

Florida has been to the SCF two years in a row. They have to be tired. And they also know, they only have to make it to the dance. First, second, third, WC, doesn't matter. As long as they get there.

All that said, TML could easily win the division.

  16. What I get a kick out of most is that these three are constantly talking sh@t about other teams, including the Western Conference champion Oilers. Yet the Leafs consistently are spinning their tires in mediocrity. What do they say about people who live in glass houses? The Leafs have proven nothing, and at this point, expectations should be at an all-time low.😂

  17. Leafs will end up somewhere between getting the top 5 in their division and exit in the first round of the playoffs again

  18. You tube "molson Canadian presents the Leaf: Blueprint a winning culture". You have to have a team to win the Cup. Leafs have the core 4 and the rest of the team. Matthews gets ragged dolled and the Leaf bench looks on in disinterest. There is no unity. You listen to the Devils talk about how they get along off ice. The Leafs, zip. A bunch of individuals.

Until you build a team around players who want to win rather than collect around their pay range, no change. None of the core 4 are team leaders. None.

Lou in his short time with the Leafs saw the flaw, pointed it out, didn't select a team captain because there wasn't one.

  19. Leafs fans honest question, do you guys seeing this team winning the cup in the Mathews era? They haven’t even been close and it looks like they’re gonna need to spend the next couple years retooling now it actually seems pretty possible they waste this era to me

  20. No playoffs for Toronto this year 2 mediocre goalies and a blue line constructed of senior citizens is not a good combo 😂

  21. Is this … a teaser for season preview/prediction podcast episodes? Please be a teaser for season preview/podcast episodes.

  22. The answer is that Mark Donk and Buzz Flibit need to make significant contributions for the Leafs. The question is who will play the roles of the Donkster and Flibitmeister.

  23. this year will not be about the goals, imho. I think we're good there. the big question, whether you want to admit it or not, is the goaltending. Can Woll stay healthy? Can Murray play when (not if) Woll gets hurt? And can Stolarz be as good in Toronto playing 40+ games?

  24. Oilers fan here…. Toronto sucks!!!!!….. here’s the reason…. Toronto leafs STOLE TAVARES!….. and Marner threatened to leave overseas, the entire Hockey news, that summer was about that a—hole marner

  25. Their regular season performance doesn't matter. We all know what'll happen. They'll get to the playoffs after padding the stats with empty numbers, 34 will have a lot of regular season goals that mean nothing, 16 will have a lot of assists that mean nothing, and both will disappear after game 3 or 4 as the Leafs lose in 7, all while their passionless fans will try to pretend that they're so unlucky because they didn't hold their ear correctly at 13:37 of the 2nd period in Game 6 with the Leafs down 33-2 or something. It's the same song and dance from a passionless team and a passionless fanbase that pays more than some car payments for tickets to a building that sounds like a morgue instead of a hockey game. For all the dunking we did on the Coyotes, at least they had a loud building before moving.
