His play is typically always at a high level. That’s not the issue in a contract year. Last time there were Columbus offer sheet threats, the agent saying he would play in Europe without contract, he was willing to hold out during camp. The issues in a contract year for Marner are all the annoying off ice tactics his team will use.
And the longer this goes the more annoying it will get.
I just hope he knows this city will hate him way worse than Islanders fans hate Tavares…and Marner lives here.
