  1. Jani Hakanpaa was a dumb move.. now ur at the mercy of his health status to find out if u can make any more moves.. his career might be done but still sign him anyway because he’s big and right handed.. total lack of creativity by leafs management.. plus the Tanev contract is horrible. Leafs are making decisions that make them appear desperate..

  2. you play the best lineup possible. The goal is to win, not to justify the cap hit of players by playing them, if Lillegren is not good enough, scratch him. who cares

  3. Liljegren: I thought he played well to begin the season until Brad Marchand "accidentally" slew footed him. He wasn't the same after that injury

  4. He may be one of the tallest players, but he's not in the top ten in the weight department.
Actually, for a guy that's 6'7 he's kinda on the lean side at 222llbs.
He will drop the gloves tho
Not sure how successful he's been fighting.
I watched him fight Nick Seeler but that didn't end well for Jani.
    Yikes, just rewatched that fight.
    Perhaps he's a better d-man than a scrapper.

  5. Every year we hear the leafs don't have the money and every year they make it work. I am not satisfied with the results but the money is not concerning to me

  6. ..Hakanpaa..large but damaged bottom pairing defender…Robertson tiny bottom sixer and Giardano a very very old defender..the Leafs are chasing these three players…not a good sign..

  7. Keep in mind Timmins' 1.1M is on that cap hit. Sign Hakanpaa and send Timmins to the Marlies and you have room for a league min 13th forward. Whether that's Lorentz or someone else, we'll have to wait and see.

I imagine the backup plan is have Timmins as the Corrado of the team for the season, and hopefully sign Robertson at $1.2M or trade him for someone with a similar cap hit.

  8. You absolutely play Hakanpää. He has been solid in Stars, is betting on himself AND for some reason has trust in Leafs team.

  9. Lol Dallas Stars fans are so excited for Toronto Maple Leafs fans to get a reality check on who they think Jani Hakanpaa is
