My theory is Krebs wants guaranteed playing time and the Sabres don't want to be locked into that. I mean I can understand from Krebs standpoint, he did right by the Sabres and played with Okposo and Girgensons for 2 years, killing his scoring opportunities. Now he might not even be in the line up every game, he only has a couple years left for teams to gamble on his potential. If he goes another year or 2 with maybe 40 games and 6 to 10 points it will be much harder for him to get teams interested in taking him on.
I have no doubt Sabres would love to extend Jack Quinn right now. But like you said, you would extend him now because you know when he has a full healthy season this year, there ain't no way his value doesn't sky rocket. Quinn and his agent knows this too. Out of everyone, Levi and Quinn are the 2 I doubt will sign until after this season, because they are the most confident that they'll improve their value this year.
Why are you talking about football? Seriously. This is a hockey podcast. Stop.
