    More on Brock from Strang:
    > Brock Boeser is off blood thinners and has resumed contact training. It will still be a situation to monitor throughout this season.

    > The forward says that he will need to be careful on flights this year. Can wear compression gear and use the Normatec to help.

Gaffar [adds](https://x.com/irfgaffar/status/1833193752237904378?s=46&t=7fabqgtgp69dNA1d51vxFw) this on the contract situation:
    >There wasn’t too much talk between the two sides over the summer at all. Most important thing is Brock is healthy and ready to go. Contract szn Boeser incoming.

FWIW, Gaffar said months ago the one guy willing to take a hometown discount is Brock, he wants to stay.

Quotes from other guys meeting the media at the golf tournament, [tweeted by Noah Strang](https://x.com/noahstrang_?s=21&t=7fabqgtgp69dNA1d51vxFw):

    DeBrusk:
    >Jake DeBrusk says that after skating with the guys a few times it’s really started to sink in he’s a member of the Canucks. “It’s like your first day of school again. It’s one of those things where I’m just trying to get straight As.”

    > Jake DeBrusk says he wants to “get back to that 25-30 goal range” and thinks “he could possibly get more if things go really well.”

    Soucy:
    > Carson Soucy says his big goals for this year are to stay healthy and contribute on the PK.

    Hughes:
    > Quinn Hughes says that Roman Josi joined his summer skates in Michigan recently and he got the chance to pick the Preds D-man’s brain. Hughes called Josi “one of the best players in this generation.”

Outstanding attitude to acknowledge that he needs to create his own value and make it a difficult decision for the Canucks to sign him at fair market value (based on what he does).

  3. Cheatin_Irish

Solid attitude. Hopefully he comes back strong.

Going to be paying a lot for Brock after he gets the Conn Smythe trophy this year.

Good thing the cap is going up, if he stays healthy that might be a pricey contract

  6. Obvious-Property-236

I think it will be an off year for him because he’s going to play a bit more safer with his health on his mind and I think the Canucks will offer a contract based on what results from it through the season

Contract year Boeser. Incoming 50 goals season. Let’s go.

  8. DaftFunky

God I hope he retires a Canuck with a cup under his belt

  9. PaperweightCoaster

I completely forgot this happened. Hope he is well but this might put him a bit behind for being ready for the season. The nicest dude on the team, it’s hard not to cheer for him.

However, does hometown discount also mean Brock would go to the Wild? I’d cry and die seeing him in another jersey, but players going home is always something I can support

Who do you think has a better year, Boeser or Laine?

  12. I like Boeser but I don’t really want him at a $8+M cap hit. Unfortunately the Konecny signing kinda locked Boeser in around the same cap hit

  13. I just hope some fans doesn’t turn on Brock too hard if he struggles at any point in the year

We’ve seen what happened with Petey and Miller when they got a new contract/needed an extension

  14. djblackprince

Inb4 Brockstar scores fifty goals on his way to a new max term contract with the team.

Brock deserves Petey’s A, tell me I’m wrong
