Harsh reality when you are a fan and you purchase your first ever NHL Monopoly Game. Values for Avalanche and Edmonton teams are lowest. 1999 Edition. Will they update the team values in a new edition?

I have a newer edition(not sure what year) and the Avs are in the orange property group for $180

Redemption! Hopefully Edmonton is upgraded as well!

Team value wise I got the og 6 being the top 6 but damn why STL?

At least the “go to jail” finger wagging at the Blackhawks is appropriate

I had the edition where you can stick the teams on whatever value you want. I’m sure you can guess where the Avs and the Wings ended up, but I’m sure all the adhesive is shot on the stickers now.

Ha. I’m 90% positive I still have this copy of NHL monopoly from when I was a kid. Think it’s buried somewhere in my parents basement

Looks like it was all based on franchise seniority. The 8 most recent expansions clubs of the time were shoehorned into the railroads, the Sharks are the first property, and all of the former WHA teams are right after that.

I mean the Avs had just won a cup, conquered the NYR offer sheet, and wetter about to crack open a fresh can in Lodo. Feels like a weird assessment honestly. Maybe it was just based on a valuation but I wouldn’t think it was when they were at a low point value wise.

Fantastic post. I’ve questioned this for years.

I think they just put the teams that had recently located together and decided to crap I’m Edmonton in the process 💪
