  1. I love Robertson, always thought he was underrated and was cheering for him so hard to be a full time leaf. But what him and his agent are doing is childish, Robo has the BEST chance in Toronto. He could be playing along side of Matthews or Marner instead he wants to go play 3rd-4th line somewhere else 😭😭

  2. Robertson can sit and watch Cowan pass him on the depth chart. Watch the recent interview with Mark Masters? He trained hard and I will not be surprised if he gets a spot on the roster this year.

  3. If they're selling that Robertson can be easily replaced by a player like Easton Cowan, then go ship off Robertson for 4th rounder. Say it with confidence and go: See ya…

  4. Devils advocate here…What if!

He doesn't want to play for the leafs because… he just doesn't have faith in them overall? Just like Ryan O'Reilly? What if there have been telling signs the last couple years that Toronto is no longer a desired destination?

There are many players who are removing Edmonton from their no trade clauses… think about that for a minute before mentioning any sort of tax or weather bs.

  5. I don't blame him. I wouldn't want to give my best years to a team that can't compete in the playoffs either.

  6. Sit his American spoiled ass . He has a big opportunity to play with new coach and he would get top 6 minutes as well with 3rd line . If he doesn’t want to sign and sit out a year it will hurt him more then us .

  7. Well I really don’t like mock trades but I do have an interesting one for ya. Would the leafs entertain a Robertson, marner trade to the rangers and we give you Trouba kakko and beard with a 2 nd round 2025

  8. I think he wants more playing time and feels he will not develop in the shadow of who else on the team. He may feel that he is a better player than what he is showing everyone since he is on the Leafs. I think if an agreement cannot get done, the Leafs should look at dealing him for some picks that the leafs can use to help build the team in the future if the current team roster does not work out. I can see him fit in on another team that can give him the support to build his character and game.

  9. We’re all getting tired of hearing about Nick Robertson. He could be a decent and exciting player if he worked on his total skill set and didn’t expect he’d be rewarded just for potting some goals. Let him have his selfish way and sit this season – he’ll screw himself with being “that guy”.

  10. Lol these guys, Blind love for their team > personal autonomy. Also, maybe there are personal reasons for Robertson not wanting to be a Leaf. These reactions are so predictable

  11. I know it's a bit of a hot take… Minten and Cowan should be on this team this year.. Remember when the Red Wings had a young Datsuk and Zetterberg on the 2nd line in the 2000s…. The Prime guys, and the Rookies… New energy to this team..

    We don't need Robertson, he's a liability.

  12. Both of you guys are headed for O-Dog poundage, if not Ken Hitchcock, still young better get that under control now.

  13. Did I miss the part where he scored 57 goals last year, led Toronto to a thrilling Conference Finals loss to Florida or something?

  14. Knies and McMann also have something that Robertson never will: Size. Both are prototypical power forwards who can band & crash in the corners. Robertson gets pushed around like a small child and it is his biggest deficit.

  15. Nicky Bobby has limited rights but he is exercising a bad decision. Leafs had enough of being pushed around by entitled players- it’s a new day

  16. I've been thinking the same thing. 22 is right around the age most NHL players get a shot at full time play anyway. Leafs have a spot wide open for him finally on top of him finally being healthy. Its rare you see players come in at 18 or 19 and play a lot of games. Its mind boggling he doesn't see he's injury prone which accounts for the delays and nows the perfect for his shot.

I'm hoping the trade request is blown out of proportions otherwise having his type of personality on the team isn't good for the leafs anyway

  17. No 4th line left winger dewar Holmberg wtf are you guys honestly talking about who’s the 4th line right winger is the real question and nick can take a hike we don’t need any more little men than we already have

  18. The truth is Robertson would never get too many hockey games with the Leafs and he knows it. He is too small and would never be a playoff performer. In my opinion he is not NHL material.
