I thought that was just another one of those "mock trades" the internet has done every week for about a month or two?!?!?! I don't think this was an actual trade rumor.
I hope not I like the way he fights
No to the Middleton trade. Not interested in any trades that doesn't involve JM4 89 90.
I would consider trading Middleton, but I wouldn't want players and prospects. I would want picks. Moving middle would open a roster spot for the likes of Hunt. Play the youngsters!
Seth in defense of Midsy, he wore too many hats last season and his stats make him an easy guy to target! When he can concentrate on being D, not trying to break in to score or be enforcer too? Come on! I am not impressed with Bogosian! He is worse hitting the net than Dumba was! His position play is all but pisitional…
Seth in defense of Midsy, he wore too many hats last season and his stats make him an easy guy to target! When he can concentrate on being D, not trying to break in to score or be enforcer too? Come on! Let the guy be a big rig D-Man! I am not impressed with Bogosian! His shooting percentage is worse at hitting the net than Dumba was! His positional play is all but positional… But it looks like he's roster bound.
the trade makes no sense this season, but what do the Wild do next year when Buium likely commands top4 minutes? You can't pay Middleton $4 million to be a 3rd pair defenseman for 3 more years…
Riley Heidt and Jack Peart definitely!
With those names, just surrender and say: "YABBA-DABBA-DEW!" I could not begin to get them right!😆🤣🤣
Happy Birthday!!!
Gives you a younger version of Hartman for the wing (2nd line) – and you're not locked into Middleton for 3 more years. There are several reasons to do this and two reasons not to do this. This gets you out of a deal which is for too long for a 2nd/3rd line D-man on any normal team and it gets you 4th round pick as well as a young, decent winger to pair with Khusnutdinov or as Seth said, the other winger on the 2nd line (for this year) It also gets you a 3rd line blueliner, a position for which you need some real NHL depth. But the reasons not? First, you have too many wingers, full stop, even without promoting Ohgren (whom you should promote) so where does Robertson play/who does he knock out of the roster/lineup? You can SAY Gaudreau or MoJo but it's obvious Guerin doesn't think that way (which sucks). Second, as of right now you need Middleton for a year until Lambos, Hunt and/or Buium are ready to play in the NHL. If Lambos or Hunt truly are ready and show they are in camp, including that they show a desire to play tough physically then I'd say go for it. They've signed people for too long who are on the downslope.
we literally just extended midseys contract why would we trade him
Great trade discussion! I would consider this trade and ask for different assets. I'm not that high on Robertson. Middleton will be replaced by Buium for the foreseeable future. You get rid of $4 mill in cap space. Chisholm will/can take his place until Buium gets here so we have a replacement to a certain extent. We get assets for Middleton to further build out this roster. If Robertson continues to get hurt we can move on rather easily. I think this is a win of a trade for the Wild.
Micheletti Monday!!! We’re getting close Boys!!!!
They literally cannot do the trade as proposed. Middleton is at $2.45M this year. Liljegren is at $3M and Robertson needs a contract. Not possible with $750k in cap space currently.
99 will be traded to the Rangers next summer.
If we can package Merill in this trade I can live with it.
I would pull the trigger on that trade before he loses any value with the remaining contract he holds.
We aren't winning the cup this year. I'd also trade Gustavson ASAP and bring up Wallstedt day one. Somehow fit Merrill in one of those Trades and you'd $5,450,000 in cap space.
Later in the year I'd find a way to trade Spurgeon as well.
I’m keeping Middsy. Known quantity that fits. Perhaps a better deal at the deadline.
Does it even matter anymore? This franchise is such a dumpster fire and so poorly run who even cares? Until the current owner drops dead or sells it's very hard to care. Until then it's a hockey abyss in St. Paul. Why is there never discussion on just how pathetic the ownership of this franchise is?
As someone who followed the hawks for a while….Spurgeon's outcome possibility like Seabrook scares me a bit.
If we were to move Middleton, I would wait for desperation. The Wild will be more competitive than they are getting credit for and Middleton is a big part of their D core. Again, the best moves are those not made many times. We have been in need of size on the back end for years, why move our big D? I would move Spurgeon before Middleton right now, trying to get bigger not smaller…
Don’t get me going on Chicago, one of the golden franchises that moved up every draft. The Wild have never picked higher than 3rd, and that was Gabby 300 years ago. Seth, happy early birthday – 🎂!!
As for Cullen, they are a pure breed hockey family. Cullen was just heady, a player you plug in and know exactly what you’re getting EVERY night. Competitive, smart and a fantastic player to watch…A coaches dream, never had to worry about the center slot on his line.
