Godspeed Jordie Benn. Thanks for your work ethic as a Canuck and best of luck reinventing yourself in the next chapter of your life after hockey.

Never forget in that cursed 2021 season when Jordie Benn just decided to be the Quinn Hughes whisperer for a little bit

Victoria’s own. Enjoy retirement!
superworking
16 seasons of pro hockey, 12 at least partially in the NHL. Quite the grind for someone who never hit superstardom.

I have to say I enjoyed watching his career, and his time with the Canucks.
Hope retirement and whatever next is good for him and his family

Can we convince Jamie to retire now as well?

I knew those guys back in minor hockey and Jordie was not supposed to end up as good as he got. Jamie was always good, but Jordie was just your typical AA player who may play some Jr B. Then he made Jr A, then he made the Salmon Kings. And then Jamie probably convinced the Stars to give him a shot on their farm team and the rest is history. A solid career he turned out of nothing.
Thinking about it, Matt Irwin also had a similar trajectory. No one thought he would make the NHL either. Peninsula churned out 3 NHL’ers in 2 years which isn’t bad for a small association.
