Im glad Artie got in, even if its just the American Hall. He was a tremendous player who suffered a gruesome injury that sidelined a career that was still in ascension. Who knows what numbers he might have put up if that had never happened to him?
Only one move will help the Pens. Laine. That's it. Otherwise, it's a season where the Pens finish 6th or under and get eliminated in the second round

Nealy was a hands down better player than Stevens , who didn’t have 66 . Love my Pens , but nobody would have swapped one for one in their healthy primes.
I don't necessarily believe in line placement as regards to a reward or salary, I think that's a reason the powerplay was so bad. I prefer finding teamwork, who plays best with whom. I don't like plug and play. It makes the team predictable for the opponents. Third and fourth lines aren't out there to give first and second a rest, they are out there to play hockey.

Lars Eller and a 2025 2nd rounder for Nick Robertson. Young, speedy, tenacious, offensive upside, familiarity with Dubas. Make it happen.
There is zero reason to rush Rutger. Let him get his feet wet in the AHL for a month or so and see how he does. Thrusting him on to the top two lines, IMO, is a mistake for a player. You and the media in general seem to be putting a ton of pressure and hype on this kid. Kind of like you did Yager, until they traded him and then he all of the sudden stunk. If he is a big part of your future then treat him as such. But then again, this roster is so lack of talent, especially young talent, perhaps they have no other option. It's going to be a long year and this idea that Dubas can fix it is just a pie in the sky.
As someone who grew up in Canada, I would say the talk of Swedes, Russians, etc., in the early 90's had a lot to do with Don Cherry. I never bought into it. A good hockey player is a good hockey player, no matter where they were born
I'd say trade one of those bottom six over priced centers for a solid bottom 4 stay at home defenseman. A big bodied box out defenseman.
