Gary Payton, Jason Kidd and John Stockton. These are the only three point guards in NBA history that logged more games than today’s guest, Andre Miller. If there’s one thing Miller embodies, it’s being a floor general. And in today’s league, it seems like floor generals are endangered, maybe even extinct. Miller candidly walks us through his thoughts as to why the true point guard is being phased out of the league. He also takes us back to memorable pockets from his rich 17-year career, including secret pickup runs with John Stockton and Karl Malone, joining the 2003/04 Nuggets for Melo’s rookie year and his unsuccessful attempts at containing a surging Steph Curry in the 2013 Playoffs.

There is expectations to an athletic game that’s a bar.
Andre Miller wouldn't impress you with athleticism but this guy had a great IQ for the game. He was probably a top 5 lob thrower for sure.
Underrated player
When kids ask what "playing the right way" means, there's three players I tell them to watch Tim Duncan, Jason Kidd, & André Miller.
D Rose used to do him dirty 🤣
Love this Podcast!! Great insight of Pros
Love hearing Dre talk the game
Cerebral PG’s always have longevity in the league!!
I love how you guys highlight players who impacted the game, but went under the radar their whole career.
Cp used to kill my dawg but he still a legend
My go to free agent in old 2k
Andre Miller was definitely a household name in my opinion you had a few players that were house hold names in his era that didn't have the media push but they had the push from the team and coaches, it was different back then, they play and ost players were consistent with whatever the role was…
It always drives me crazy that guards can’t pace the game. They’re just running up and down. That’s why the game ebbs and flows like it does and no one can hold a lead
When he was talking about golden state that shit was funny
52 was crazy against my mavs
🔥
Andre interview is as much fun as watching him play ball.
PG should be studying Andre game. I wish he was an assistant coach on my favorite team.
Always liked Andre Miller as a player. Seems like a chilled humble guy!
Never heard of this pod but stumbled across it and man this was an amazing interview. Automatically subscribed good stuff thank you!
As a lifelong 43yr old Warriors fan. STEPH IS NOT A PG. Draymond ,iggy, livingston played more pg than steph did.
Steph changed the Game but it's not for the better.
Sure….
Any AAU gym you walk in all the kids are shooting 3s. The question is how many kids to see actually making them?
Exactly…1%
I'm with Kobe on basketball development. 😒

The Mavs lost to the heat in '06 not in 2010 like Dylan said. You need to brush up on your basketball knowledge Dylan.
Andre I give props too because he would actually guard the opposing star point guards unlike most players nowadays
Loved Andre's game
Luka won MVP in Europe averaging about 15 pts a game. No AAU hero ball over there.
That 2013 Nuggets team had one of the most talented and excitin teams I've ever seen, definitely was a problem on 2k13 as well, I really wanted to see Galli vs Klay at that time
One of the more underrated and under appreciated Point Guards to play in the NBA.
Before Jamal Murray recently and the championship run, Andre Miller was my #1 point guard the Denver nuggets ever had.
Nowhere near world level athleticism but among the goats in IQ and durability. He made being a basketball fan worth it.
I’ll never forget Dre lead the league in assist and still got snubbed for allstar smh so underrated true point guard
Someone needs to collect these john stockton stories. The more you hear about him the more you appreciate these hardened vets getting shook by the "Minivan Mobster"
Subscribed. Quality pod with one of the most underrated silent killers, Dre Miller. Good flow of convo here and lot of gems
Hope y'all can get Eddie Jones for an interview. He's been real low key sense he retired. I would love to hear what he's been up to.
Absolutely incredible interview. Jelani sir I am impressed with how you welcome and respect your guests. 🫡👍🏿. Excellent questions!
Hey Jelani,
Since this is an "All the Smoke Production, when Kenyon Martin was a guest on ATS, I believe he mentioned that Andre Miller was fearless as a PG
If you watch Andre Miller it debunks this idea of the game being better because of "evolution" and being "stronger, bigger, faster". All buzz words. If you know how to play the game you can play in any era
Andre Miller was a great point guard
your pod deserves more views yall get underrated guests on all the time. great stories.
As I white pg in HS I always looked at Andre Miller as inspiration. Salute
39:30
43:32 overrated daddy gives him the green light. Can’t stand that Oj SIMPson ⚪️🗑️ wannabe
If Michael Malone departs from being HC in Denver. Andre Miller should be take the spot or at least Head AC. He would be great for a guy like Jamal to learn to make the game easier.
