New Jersey Devils TV play-by-play announcer Bill Spaulding accompanied me on today’s episode. We talked about his journey as a sports broadcaster. Bill got his first start at Syracuse University and won the Jim Nantz Award in 2012. Aside from the Devils, Bill has called Olympic events on NBC, minor league baseball, and a bunch of collegiate sports. He also took the time to answer some of your questions.

slick opening guys, great interview. you so rarely find an interview between sports journalists on the topic of journalism without looking for it
My sister graduated in 2007 and her freshman year at Syracuse University was when the Orange won the national title in basketball. I am sure Bill remembers that championship the same year that the Devils won the Stanley Cup in 2003.
