Devils Player Grid | Best Coach

All 3 of the Devil’s cups being won by different coaches is wild to me.

    Jacques Lemaire or Larry Robinson.

  2. lobsterdog666

Its fucking Pat Burns and it isn’t close.

  3. GorksPokinFinger

Can it be both Pat Burns and Jacques Lemaire?

  4. PeppiPanini

My biased vote is for Robinson, but you can’t go wrong with either him or Lemaire. Both had profound impacts on the team’s history.

  5. It’s Lemaire. He was a brilliant defensive coach who helped mold our team culture. He lead the team to their first Cup in team history. When he came back in the late ’00s, he did the unthinkable and helped turned Kovy into a capable two-way player.

The only knock against him is that the defensive system he put in place was so staggeringly effective that we still have to listen to people bitching about it 30 years later.

Jacques implemented a system so effective it “broke” hockey. Larry and Pat were incredible but they were working off Jacques’ foundation.

    It’s Alain Nasreddine, no question.

(It’s actually Jacques Lemaire, with apologies to Burns and Robinson.)

It’s Lemaire… they had to change the rules to get around his system…

  9. scrumclunt

Lemaire no question. Burns is a real close 2nd

  10. Gotta be Lemaire. Burns deserves all the praise he got, though.

I want us to pick Lindy just to see the carnage, but yes it is Lemaire.

Has to be Jacques, but I loved Pat Burns. What a shame they didn’t vote him into the Hall til after he died

  13. msbdrummer

Lemaire, Robinson, Burns. Take your pick

Debour is runner up for 4th place.

  14. bangersnmash13

It has to be Lemaire right? Burns is up there but I’m leaning towards Lemaire

  15. If Jacques Lemaire didn’t exist, I would vote Pat Burns.

Jacques Lemaire was the architect of the greatest defensive team in NHL history. He’s not only the devils greatest head coach, he’s on of hockey history’s greatest coaches

  17. gothenburgpig

Lemaire is the reason people say we ruined hockey. I love that.

  18. onederbred

Robbie Ftorek holds the NHL record for most benches thrown. That has to be worth something

  19. brizzz_89

It’s Lemaire but shoutout Larry Robinson.

  20. falaris

Can make an argument for Big Bird due to all his assistant coaching done with us on top of the 2000 cup, but ultimately it is Lemaire.

  21. OfManNotMachine17

    Lemaire.

    Honorable mention to Pat Burns

  22. Njdevilmn

I’m have a soft spot for Jim Schoenfeld for his fire in the late 80s but the only answer here is Jacques.
