I hope it’s a bit better for him financially than the AHL salary. A useful organizational player for the Griffins with his short stints in Detroit as needed. Hopefully we can find the Griffins a suitable replacement (Gerry Mayhew, Stevie?)

I read the second half of the title first and panicked

I’m still of the opinion he could have played for the wings full time during those down seasons. I’m surprised no bottom feeders took a shot on him. Maybe I’m just too high on him though

Good for Taro. Hope he can carve out a decent career. Can’t fault when these guys choose the Euro leagues over the A when the travel is generally much less, the money is generally better, and the added bonus of getting to see the world.

Also, Idiocracy assumed Costco would take over everything. Apparently Red Bull has other ideas.

He’s too soft for the NHL and last year was his worst AhL season so it was time to move on

  6. Stinks; I love Hirose’s team game. I wish him well. He’s one of those dudes that makes everyone around him better.

I heard playing in the red bull team is sick on the chickets podcast, I’m surprised Taro stuck around for as long as he did

  8. Non-existent in the late season and playoff push. No surprise he was released. Nice passer but undersized and couldn’t find a niche with the Wings.
