Yzerman’s clearly not seeing the super value you guys do in Raymond

Title says it all. Clearly, Steve doesn’t see the overinflated value that Raymond’s agent and pretty much 99% of you nerds on here do. Stutzle is still pound for pound the better player, and Raymond’s agents need to get over themselves.

I miss when large contracts was all smiles in Larkins kitchen

  2. Monkey10pts

Clearly you know exactly what Steve is thinking. Should’ve come to you earlier.

If the Wings had snuck into the playoffs at the end of last season, it would’ve been because of Raymond’s play over anyone else. That’s a level of clutch we haven’t seen since Zetterberg. I expect Raymond to take over for Larkin as our best forward in the near future.

Show me on the shooter tutor where Steve and Lucas hurt you.

I’m sorry, but blaming the player for asking for a market value based on production isn’t the player’s fault. The market determined the ballpark he’s in. If Yzerman doesn’t pay it, you might want to watch out for an offer sheet from a GM that doesn’t think Stutzle is overpayed. Then we will lose the one young star offensive talent this team has, and Yzerman’s crumbling Yzerplan will continue to circle the drain. I’m not big on Yzerman overpaying for players, but when you don’t have a single other premium, under 25 offensive talent in the system, you have to pay what you have to pay or risk this team taking a large step back.

You must not have much going for you to be so worked up over speculation from another team

OP really thought they were making a profound point here eh? Real gotcha moment.

  8. awkwardocto

i really wouldn’t put too much stock in what an unnamed, presumably uninvolved agent has to say on the matter

I mean, we’re talking about a difference of 7.9 vs 8.3. While we all want Lucas as low as possible, this difference in price is of no concern.

Why did the Sens have to over pay Stutzle? What was there ‘situation’?

  11. edimaggio7

Crumbling yzerplan? You are delusional. Went from zero prospects and poor draft picks to one of the best prospect groups in league.

Almost made playoffs by one tie breaker.

Offseason moves including regaining Kane and bringing in Tarasenko.

Also Stevie doesn’t leak. Nobody knows the truth.

We are making the right moves for where we are.

I’m sure he thinks he’s valuable, he’s just trying to get him on a steal of a contract.

    “you nerds”

Bro is mad about something. When did all of Reddit sleep with his gf?

    That’s a hell of a title OP

Tim Stutzle is overpaid? The dude has played more games and scored more points than Dylan Larkin in the last two seasons, which were his 3rd and 4th year in the league. And he makes less than Dylan. I get there are things Dylan does better, but that’s a great deal for a 90 point center.

  16. EarthenChild

Obviously you’re not the GM, but I’m curious what you think Raymond’s value is, AAV-wise.

  17. laferri2

I won’t be surprised if Raymond ends up doing a bridge deal and bolts/gets traded. Yzerman is taking his time to get the team competitive and Raymond doesn’t have born-in-Michigan loyalty. The Wings can say their situation is different from the Sens but it really isn’t. They need to hit on, and keep, pretty much all their first round prospects and players or things get grim in a hurry.

Maybe i’m misunderstanding, but this post implies Stutzle is overpaid and it’s essentially unanimous among NHL GM’s. Raymond is putting up similar numbers to Stutzle, probably similar ice time. So why wouldn’t they come in at a similar value after you take in consideration the Stutzle overpay?

Yzerman is negotiating, he’s not just going to say “OMG HERE TAKE $10 MILLION!!!!!”

Around 8mill seems pretty reasonable all things considered. If Yzerman gets him at 7ish or less then I think it’s a phenomenal win for the team.

  19. I can see both sides of it. Yes this sub has sycophants that circle jerk into the night with blinders on. No Raymond is not a super star and Yzerman can’t pay him as such. What he is, is absolutely one of the best forwards on this team of depth and it would be less than ideal if he doesn’t sign a decent contract.

OP I don’t think you’re going to win hearts and minds of the nerds and circle jerkers with this post, but kudos to posting it
