[Matisz] Nathan MacKinnon said Tuesday that teammate Artturi Lehkonen’s “not starting the season” in the Avalanche lineup.

Continued – Reached out to an Avs spokesperson for an official update:

Lehkonen, who had offseason shoulder surgery, won’t be a full participant when training camp opens next week. At this point, there’s no firm timeline for a return

I thought this had been the understanding for a while.

So no Lehky and no Val, the forecheck is gonna suck.

They’re going to have a top 2 and that’s about it for forwards

My dog is obsessed with Lehky and she just sighed heavily when I told her she was going to have to wait longer to see her man. 😂

Whyyyy…we need good Avs vibes. I want to watch some winning.

Honestly, we could use the cap space to figure shit out if he goes on LTIR to start the year.

Well that sucks, looks like we have a top line and Mitts. LOC and Ritchie for 9 games on the wings? It’s going to be a tough start of the season.

We can’t have nice things most seasons, that’s just how it goes as a fan of this team.

At least it’s at the start though, so we will get him back when it matters. We have a good enough team that it hopefully wont hurt us too bad

Sorry guys, I just got a new lehk jersey, my fault.

Shame too, because artturi and Mittlestadt were developing some really solid chemistry on the 2nd line last year in the playoffs.

  11. It’s almost that time we need to start saving draft picks. We are going to need to replenish around our core or else their prime years are going to be wasted.

Man, this team’s injury luck is so shit, they start happening before the season’s even begun! Goals will be difficult to come by without him in the lineup, so hopefully the play in front of Georgiev improves over last year.

Having a shitty October isn’t necessarily the end of the world, but good luck winning the division if you have to play catch-up after just the second week. This is especially relevant given how fucking brutal the Central will likely be this year.
