How is this level of hockey to watch?  And where is it available?

I really liked Addamo in Wheeling. He never saw much time in WBS but he skates well for a guy that’s *fucking huge.*

    Dudes like 6’5” 250

Worth noting F-G was playing with 13 skaters and one goalie today due to what was allegedly an outbreak of food poisoning

Also I swear I’m just a jinx for Rouen, I tune in when they’re winning and they always end up coughing it up

And one final note….man is Finland having a pretty poor season, the magic number last season was that you needed 9 points to get into the playoffs and there’s a chance *none* of these three hit that mark (all have a gimme left – Pelicans actually have two – but they’ll still need to get something out of their tougher remaining opponents: Lausanne for Tappara, Växjö for Ilves, and Pardubice for Pelicans. While also not slipping up against their gimmes)

Can someone explain the Top Scorer jersey?

I feel like such a sick puppy for recognizing the names of like half of dozen of these players lmao.

Glad to see Vatanen still playing. He was on some miserable Devils teams and we thank him for his service. 👏

Made the away trip to Fehervar – what a wonderful institution the CHL is. We were maybe about a hundred Lausanne fans all told, including a dozen friends from Jena.

One thing I’ve noticed in my European away trips is that – for all the stereotypes – Swiss hockey fan culture seems significantly more adversarial than in the other places I’ve seen. In Székesféhervar there was no segregation whatsoever between home and away fans, the beer stand was shared, and we had kids (and adults) wander over to our group at the breaks and exchange greetings and scarves. I parted with my scarf in exchange for a Fehervar one with a ~10 year old kid, bit sad about it in retrospect since it was something of a collection piece (scarves made for the last game in our old arena) but I hope the kid will treasure it for a while.

The game itself was really surprisingly tough, Fehervar didn’t seem massively weaker than the other teams we’ve faced so far in my opinion and our 19-year old goaltender Keller (Caps prospect!) was tested rather more than we’d’ve expected… This is absolutely a game that we could’ve lost, they hit metal at 0-0 and had an equaliser to 2-2 called off. In general probably the least impressive game by Lausanne so far, but still a win, probably enough points to qualify already, and I expect 3 points from the remaining 2 games. If we even manage to beat Tappara we can look forward to a fairly easy Ro16 as well.
