Should William Nylander switch positions?

Just like last year, a question entering camp for the Maple Leafs is where William Nylander fits in the lineup. Should he play centre or wing? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button shares his thoughts.

    Welcome to Toronto.

  2. I get that Tavares is overpaid, but look around the league and their depth charts. So many teams 2nd line centers are on par or worse than what the Leafs have. Obviously Edmonton is the anomally with McDrai. But the Stars have Duchene, Florida has Bennett, Colorado has Mittlestadt, Boston has Coyle, Tampa has Cirelli. You can't say Tavares is really that much worse than any of those guys besides the cap hit.

and one needs to lay off the hair product, he's starting to look like grandma after a shower

  4. Tavares is a great 2nd line center and only moves to the wing if you get a better Center. Nylander is a winger. Let's forget about keefe's line blending. Let Berube do Berube.

  5. This is the most ridiculous conversation ever…a lot of teams would love to have Tavares as second line centre.

  6. A great winger doesn’t necessarily make a great center. Moving him only makes sense if you have never played or don’t understand hockey.

  7. Why have they never tried marner at Center? He may be a bit small, but his style of play and defensive awareness seem ideally suited for the middle rather than the wall.

  8. Nylander is really a fast skater. Put him center you will lose many turnovers/odd man rushes. And his creativity in corners will be lost. Let him play the Swedish style hockey and he will continue to produce points.

  9. Button’s an idiot. Pasta has never played Center. Nylander was a Center all the way through Junior and in the AHL.

  10. Gino is a dufuss for totally ignoring Tavares. Tavares is one of the better 2cnd line centers in the league. But I guess Gino has a talking point for today's show, so JT no longer exists
