It feels like it wasnât that long ago Victor Olofsson was clicking with Jack Eichel in Buffalo; and the two have reunited for another tour in Sin City.
With Eichel in Buffalo, Olofsson played at 30 and 20 goal paces and had his most effective seasons on the power play. At the moment it looks like Olofsson will be riding shotgun with Eichel at even-strength with a role on PP2; which should be an excellent opportunity for Olofsson to return to his 20+ goal production from seasons past.
Looking at the numbers there are a couple points of interest. First, Olofsson shot a career-low 6.7 SOG/60 with a four-year low individual shooting percentage at 10.6%. Second, last season the now Vegas forward played a career-low time on ice at 11:34 and 1:23 PPTOI (30% PP Share) for Buffalo.
With those numbers in mind and a top line role, Olofsson should far outweigh his current average draft position (undrafted).
