  1. The classiest superstar of any sport bar none, he truly gets it he never has made himself bigger than the sport itself, so classy so humble, we have been blessed to have Sid and Mario, enjoy it while it exists because it only happens occasionally in sports.

  2. Is 2 years enough to make him a Penguin for life? Meaning, it seems he might have more than 2… Love Sid, love the 8.7 AAV 🤘🤘

  3. I agree with all of you here expressing accolades about Sidney Crosby. He is a class act, he bucks the trend of most if not all other athletes (and that isn't a dig at those athletes). He is humble and honourable. I appreciate Dubas' comments about him, because it is true. Having said that, I hoped he would have chosen to go somewhere else to have a chance to win, to go to the playoffs…It would be a real shame if he spent the last 3-5 years of his career out of the playoffs. But it would be consistent with him.

  4. @DK what's your issue with Toronto? no one in Toronto thought those players should have gotten the money they did…it was DUBAS who gave the money he gave to Nylander and Marner and Matthews that was above what they were expected to get initially that started the trend….not the reporters or the fans. Non of the fans or the reporters thought they should get that money. The recent contract to Nylander no one thought was good, and Matthews was market value given the contracts given out to the top starts now.
Anyways, I chuckled when you made that comment, only because in the past you would make comments anytime I would mention Toronto when I was talking about Dubas' past.

  5. On the subject of Toronto insanity, I had a conversation with some Leaf fans a while ago where they earnestly thought that Sid would want to come to Toronto to be their 3C because A) it's Toronto, and B) because helping the Leafs win the Cup would "cement his legacy and make his a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame." Marinate on that a moment. Okay, sure Leaf fans think they're the center of the hockey universe – I get that – but to think that they really thought Sid's legacy needed some help and that he was still on the edge of being Hall-caliber. Double yoi.

  6. This quote from Dubas yesterday moistened my eyes:

“There are no words to properly describe what Sidney Crosby means to the game of hockey, the city of Pittsburgh and the Penguins organization,” said Dubas. “Sidney is the greatest player of his generation and one of the greatest players in the history of the game. His actions today show why he is one of hockey’s greatest winners and leaders. Sid is making a tremendous personal sacrifice in an effort to help the Penguins win, both now and in the future, as he has done for his entire career.”

  7. Glad he stayed. But if he left he would still have complete respect from myself and many others for what he has accomplished.

    A generational star 🌟 .

  8. Thanks again DK. You have no idea how vital you are to keeping me connected to my hometown teams way down here in Texas.

  9. love Sid.. and he'll bolt Pittsburgh the week of his retirement and will rarely be seen again in Western PA.

  10. DK. We listen to your daily shot every day on the way to drop my kindergartener off at school. Today, I heard her making up songs to the transition music. Thanks for being a part of our daily routine!

  11. Sid for life, A personality and player like Sid does not happen that often. I embrace the fact he is in Pittsburgh and plays for the Penguins, and I am grateful he will remain. Thank you DK, Great show.
