    Terry Sawchuk and it’s not even close. The guy had records that weren’t broken until the 2000s and this was back when you only played like 50 games a season! He still holds the franchise records too.

    After this sub putting Lidstrom > Howe I have no faith in them and thus expect Hasek to win this one.

    But in reality it’s Sawchuk by a significant margin. This is the easiest square here.

    For currently goalie it’s a fierce competition between “empty net” and the shooter tutor.

    All-time is Sawchuk, hands down. There’s a reason he’s the only goalie to have his number retired by the Wings.

    Howard is far from most under rated. He was terrible for the organization.

    Let me start by mentioning that Hasek is my favorite player of all time. However, Sawchuk should be the all-time goalie for the Wings. Sawchuk was amazing as a Wing and did a lot of his work as a Wing. Hasek was great for us, but he only spent 4 of his 16 years with us. While Sawchuk spent 14 of his 21 years with us, and he had his Hall of Fame waiting period waived because he was simply one of the greatest of all-time.

    TL:DR Hasek and Sawchuk good, Sawchuk spent longer as Wing.

    Current is probably Talbot but of the goalies who have actually played a game for us I’d say Lyon

    Howe should have won over lidstrom. He’s a mount Rushmore guy. He’s the second or 3rd best forward EVER.

    I love Lidstrom, I have him firmly as the second best defenseman ever, but Howe should have won that. It’s bias towards a player that most of us got the pleasure of seeing play that he didn’t imo

    Best goalie to ever wear Red wings jersey is Hasek, however the best Red Wings goalie (who played more seasons not just 4 like Hasek) has to be Sawchuk.

    Terry Sawchuk by an infinite amount. Then currently I guess Talbot.

    Trick question – the only goaltender available for this is Sawchuk. The man racked up 350 wins with a SV% of 904! The only goalie to come anywhere close is Osgood and Osgood played after the CBA expansion to 82 games.

    All time is pretty easily Sawchuk. Hard to overstate how good he was.

    Current I’d say Lyon. You could argue Talbot, but if we consider how good they’ve been with other teams then I’d have to change my all time to Hasek, and I’m not doing that, so I’ll stick with Lyon.
