I would start Poitras as the third line center. He is a true playmaker and scorer. The Bs should be prepping him for a first, or second, line center role in the long run.
Burn that cap
I hope Bussi shines during camp.
Poitras RW
Bs need scoring. Merkulov a natural scorer. Have to put him in position to do so, not 4th line.
Swayman needs to sign, for a reasonable contract, he is a very good goalie, but he doesn't deserve top of the market money. If he doesn't trade him for a piece the team really needs. Somebody will overpay for him.
Is shesterkin signed yet? There’s nothing to worry about here with sway
I love The Skate Podcast! My question concerning the Swayman contract situation is this: are the Bruins offering incentives to a decent base amount? Or is Swayman nixing that and wants it all guaranteed? It would seem that if the right incentives were offered (55+ games started, Save percentage >0.925, Goals against under 2.00, etc) then the deal should get done. It would be a win/win for each side.
Bruins already started practice. I was at Warrior yesterday morning, 9/16. Everyone was there including swayman. Everyone except marchand and Carlo. Swayman was in net for the entire 60 minute scrimmage without whistles. Lysell was there. Poitras was skating hard. Literally Everyone
