Round 6 – Who’s had the most wasted potential in 1.0 history (1972-1996) and has/had the most wasted potential in 2.0 history (2011-2024)?

Sami Niku had us all hyped for quite a bit.

Burmistrov also had a ton of skill but never panned out.

Jets 1.0: Stu Barnes – Turned into a decent player on other teams. Jets traded him for Randy Gilhen…

Jets 2.0: Sami Niku – Not sure what happened there.

In Jets 1.0, I nominate Iain “Slam” Duncan. He has a great rookie campaign with great speed and good hands, then out on 10-15 pounds heavier, all of that muscle, and never matured as a player.

Logan Stanley. I remember when he was drafted a lot of people thought he would slot in pretty well since heโ€™s a big body and just needed a season or two to get his skating up to par. Thought heโ€™d pan out like a Tyler Myers but itโ€™s not looking like it anymore.

2.0 Sami Niku, wasted potential. That hair just immaculate to not play in the show.
