BOSTON — Bruins GM Don Sweeney addressed the media ahead of training camp and discussed Jeremy Swayman’s contract negotiations. Responding to a report that Boston hadn’t returned Swayman’s calls, Sweeney said, “I think it’s bullshit that somebody says I wouldn’t return a call for three weeks. … My son loves Biz, thinks he’s fabulous. I think he’s a great entertainer. But at the end of the day, it’s inaccurate.”

I will be livid if they over pay for Swayman. I said from the very beginning he is worth 5 years at 6 to 6.5 million, and that is even a little high because I like him. Rumor is he wants 9 to 10 million. No way in hell. He hasn't earned it, not by a long shot.
There is only so much money to go around and there are roster spots to fill. Hell, I even thought Pasta was over paid. Fact is, he's only broken the 50 goal plateau once and scored 40 or more 4 times. That didn't justify paying over 11 million a year. Paying a huge chunk of money to just a few players leaves you filling the balance of the roster with 3rd and 4th liners. That won't get you far. Ask the Leafs.
Hope Don he doesn’t give in and overpay, let him sit. Nobody went after Swayman with an offer sheet. The Bs aren’t cheap like they were way back. Guessing they made a fair bridge deal offer.
This hangs soley on sweeny's head, you knew last year with arbitration that this was going to be an issue and you sat there and did nothing and let it wait till the last second.
