Patrik Laine is easily worst player in the NHL if it werent for his his great yet vastly overrated shot due to flukish shooting percentage early on his career. He used to shoot with high velocity so goalies were often late because of the brilliant passes by Wheeler and the other elite players he has the luxury of playing with but his accuracy is nowhere near as good as some fanboys once thought it was. Elite fans tried to warn them about his unsustainable shooting %
Mattews has the best shot in the NHL in his wrister with the angle changing technique he created on top of everything else yet low level fans kept saying how Laine is the purer goal scorer or as defense mechanism because he was pure carbage at everything else.
Their size difference in salary wont do anywhere near enough justice to make up for the massive skill gap.
And some jets fans still think laine is better than Matthews
