Reto Berra comes to mind. I’ll never understand how Sakic traded a second rounder for him.

I know he was likable but we watched Peter Budaj play way too much…

Jose Three or four had a better team in front of him than Berra did. Therefore, I think it’s Theodore.

Spencer Martin if we’re going with the absolute worst. But the worst goalie of any notable substance, Jose Theadore.

I mean there’s a reason we barely saw Michael Hutchinson, Antoine Bibeau, Devan Dubnyk, Keith Kincaid, Tyler Weiman, Sami Aittokallio, Adam Werner, Andrew Hammond, Spencer Martin, Hunter Miska, and Vitaly Kolesnik, so I kinda think this one needs at least a minimum sample size here?
But yeah I think I’m gonna have to go by the numbers with Phil Sauvé here. Dude couldn’t even crack a .900 save percentage in 2004 behind that defense at the height of the Dead Puck Era. Otherwise, Andrew Raycroft and Brian Elliott are strong (?) contenders, as are Reto Berra and Recency Bias Ivan Prosvetov. I also think Calvin Pickard and Jeremy Smith deserve at least a mention here, knowing full well what team they played behind while filling in for that last season of Semyon Varlamov, but yeah there’s also a reason we don’t talk about that specific season. That team was dreadful, but Pickard and Smith didn’t exactly help their cases.

Recent addition, but Ivan Prosvetov. Last season’s backup should have been back off to Russia sooner. Bless Justus for being able to take over the backup role
