We had some fun with Jumbo and Patty Marleau, but I'm not sure if it really got us any further to the goal than we already were. Fyi, I lived in San Jose for 30 years and had sharks seasons tickets for about 10 of them, so I love those guys…
Again, I'm torn with this one, but I'm intrigued with Max's comment about being in great shape and healthy. If he comes into training camp kicking ass, that could be good. Let's hope he does.

I can just imagine a month from now when Patches, Woll, Tanev and Robertson are hurt. It was a weird signing.
Had him here in Montreal for many years and he was a big part of the team back then.But fragile with a big heart,often hurt.

Aside from a development and rehabilitation role, the leafs serve the NHL and NHLPA as a retirement team where careers go to end. They may as well sign Daryl Sittler now.
The best move this off-season wasn't the players they acquired it was the coach we finally have a championship coach. Ps I'm on the endangered species list only a few months old the last time they won the cup time is running out for me.

Brad Treliven is a terrible GM. For the way he left the Calgary Flames in shambles. Sabotage, despicable actions to leave the Flames with an anchor contract of Jonathan Huberdeau plus other idiotic moves to plaque the Calgary Flames for many years to come.
Beware Leaf fans, he will destroy the Leafs in time.

Patches was a great player. I hope he lasts the year. If he can still play in the playoffs he will be the type of player the Leafs need. He is the definition of "toughness". Just temper your expectations as all the other NHL teams passed on him. (I hope for Leafs' fans the defender that he "blew by" is not someone who makes the Leafs – or as a Habs fan I hope that defenceman is on the first pairing)

I'm no Leafs fan, but he has always seemed to be a high character individual, so i hope he has a healthy and productive year, but then go pointless in the playoffs

Max Pat, is gonna win out the 2nd best center on this team within 1 week of regular season play over a guy who has been our captain for 8 season's.
So its aa little early to say the leafs robbed the nhl. Theres still to many questions. Like How much is this contract going to be for? I think we all assume it will be a 1 year deal but did Treliving have to pull a Ryan Reeves and promise him an extra year to get him here? Will it be for league minimum or over a mil? I just hope its anything below 1M i think would be a good signing. Then you have to take into consideration who the leafs are trading to get the room to fit this contract. Theres still alot of unanswered questions.
