[Hamilton] When Appert was talking about the power play that he and Ruff will be running he said the days of Thompson standing in the circle taking one-timers is pretty much over unless the PK is in chaos. He said they also need to start winning more puck battles for it to improve.

The Sabres coaching staff is passing “doing the obvious bare minimum” with flying colors. First time in a while. I can’t believe our stand still and hope it gets better strategy didn’t work.
Things like this really drive home how out of his depth Granato was, and I’m a fan of the guy.
Ironically the season where Tage was automatic at the circle and they were a top PP was because they were good at cycling the puck.
Last season’s PP was just lethargic in comparison
