Val is needed piece to get another Cup
As much as I like the guy personally both on and off the ice, and his feel good story as I'm sure most fans know…add in the fact that when he is squared away and playing elite level(like 8 goals in 8 playoff games)hockey, he is a huge part of this hockey club…however I just can't see the management or the team going through this deal again. It's a serious problem and huge gamble. Its a groundhog day situation for the AVs and personally I really think the team needs to wake up and get out of this loop. It pains me greatly to say it, but I really think they need to move on.
He's just gonna disappear in the middle of the playoffs on a coke bender and wake up with a prostitute in his bedroom. How many times do we have to teach you this lesson Av's fans?
Nuke? No way. Once burned twice shy… blah blah. Wrecked team during playoffs, twice. Not worth it. Having said that, if the Avs are going to let him back in… they only have themselves, again, if he goes rails off. Accept him back, then the Avs better get babysitters, plural, 24/8/385. Having said that… I would love to be 100% wrong.
I mean they can't term his contract, Val is staying. They may as well make the best of it and be ultra supportive, try and help him be his best again
If the key guys like MacKinnon can truly accept Val back with open arms then who am I or anyone to question that.
