Man there was I time he would have been a great addition kinda like shattenkirk. I think you seriously undervalue how well the oilers played defense in the playoffs. They may not have been elite on that end but were certainly above average.

I think it was a really dumb move resigning Perry, and not even at league minimum just for his experience what a waste of roster and cap space.
Honestly I have heard the Oilers have been interested in Hoffman for years, so this PTO really doesn't shock me at all. I'd rather have him than Perry in the lineup.
