I liked Marky before, but after this interview I love this dude!
Hopefully Markstrom has a huge season for the NJ Devils this season.

Devils manage to get a few Vancouver goalies throughout their franchise history: Kirk McLean, Cory Schneider, Jakob Markstrom.

Crosby is a prime example of a Veteran leading the way for younger guys. It's def becoming very rare in the NHL to have that veteran teaching and showing the way for younger guys on their team.
Still waiting for a player to win the cup, run home and set about producing a man child. Then 9.5 months later, on his day with the cup, player X baptises his son in the cup. That kid would be a hockey god!

Would love if Markstrom encouraged other teammates to work out harder, and really up their game. That is what is needed. I would also love if we won a 4th cup on the 30 year anniversary of winning our 1st.
Senior leadership in that locker room is a must. Feel like this crew is a bit soft. Want to see more emotion and nastiness this season. Veterans can do that. So fired up for this season!!! LGD!
Sucks we couldn’t keep Taffoli with all the talks from everywhere and everyone saying we need one more top 6 forward but he got his big payday so happy for the kid and we got way better defensively at the back end with Dillon and Pesce plus in the front with Noesen and Cotter! And Tomas Tatar back with us is very responsible in his own end at this stage in his career so he definitely will not be a liability especially since he’s known more for his offensive prowess! And we don’t even know how valuable Kovacevic will be to us as well! So much to look forward to! Once Mercer is signed then the road to the playoffs begins! The division is ours if Mercer is playing, that kid is only going to get better! If he can catch fire with Hischier and Tatar again then talks on us needing one more top six forward will end right there
I’ll definitely admit I’m biased as a former goalie, but (imo) the goalie’s attitude really sets the tone for the team. I’m super excited about Markstrom, and the time to win is now. If Markstrom plays like he can, (most of) the haters will stop hating soon enough.
It wasn't just Papa Hughes who's said that Luke is the best of the three, both Quinn and Jack have said that they both believe that Luke is the most talented of the three brothers. That's not just brotherly praise, considering that all the Hughes boys are pretty straight talkers.
Also, I agree that the Marky interview really makes a fan love him more than they already would have. He's going to be a great influence as well as goalie for this team.
On September 29, the Devils will trade Jonas Siegenthaler, Isaac Poulter, Arseni Gritsyuk, and Josh Filmon to the Jets for Connor Hellebuyck and 2025 3rd- and 5th-rounders, so this coming season, Connor and Jakob Markstrom will form one of the best goalie tandems the Devils have seen since Martin Brodeur and Chris Terreri.
