If the rumors are true that Drury is holding firm at 10.5 x 7 or 8, and has no problem taking this to next summer, I wonder what his backup plan is. Igor aside, as the GM what do you do? If they can’t come to an agreement it would be a crime to just let him walk in FA and get nothing for him. And is he just going to hope and pray that Garand works out?
For the record I think they’ll get a deal done and Igor will stay but we’re going to have fun speculating for the next 9 months

As bad as the cap situation is, I would rather the Rangers buckle on the dollar amount if they can keep it to 5 years or so.

Remember Hank went into his contract year without a deal and he played like shit with that looming overhead, as soon as he signed he found his game again. Not saying that’s going to happen again but I hope this deal gets done in the next few weeks.
