As a Rangers fan, i love it. Let the players get paid. They put their bodies on the line for our entertainment and enjoyment. Igor for 12 million. Drury needs to do his job and make it all work and build a contender.
People who say having a top goalie doesnt help or can win without one just cause vegas did it. The old Bruins/Kings had Rask/Quick. Caps had Holtby,Bolts had Vasilevskiy,Pens had Fluery. The predators just made decision move on from askarov and keep Saros.
Shesteekin qont be worth half that contract in 4-5 years. There's a reason goalies don't get the big contracts. Theyre extremely unpredictable, often injured, and tap out early.
Shesterkin should be happy with 10.5, or sign shorter. Swayman is absolutely smoking something if he thinks he deserves more than 8 right now; he played as a tandem and things could change drastically in his performance.
Korpasalo looking good last night. Swayman situation is regrettable and shows his disloyalty to the organization that carefully developed his potential. Btw, his potential has yet to be proven. Trade him before it becomes a cancer.

8×8 for sway and 8×9 for shesterkin maximum, 10 mil in this era aint worth it for a goalie, the league is way too talented.

How about: Ottawa trades Ullmark to the Bruins for Swayman and the Bruin's first round picks the next two seasons.
