  1. Evans needs to stop being played at 15:30/game and should be directed back to a 4th line/PK role, where he's great. He doesn't have the offensive tools to be a 3C. If there's a good trade offer for him this early this season, he can be sacrificed. It's not a huge loss. I would rather trade Dvorak around deadline day to try and get some type of value out of him.

  2. in 2 or 3 years you will want reinbacker and gulhle to be on the ice when montreal is winning by 1 goal and there is only 1 minute left in the game .

  3. Reinbacher is only 19. He will be a solid defender for years, might take a little time to develop but the skill is there.

  4. As you said about Reinbacher being patient also applies to Beck and Kapanen. Yes they are impressive after 1 game ..gotta see more. It's not a major issue if they don't make the team , they will only be better next year. Beck going to Laval may get called up and will have an edge on Kapanen who will be in Sweden. TY for the great content as always.

  5. Reinbacher will be the perfect complement for Hutson. It was the plan when they drafted him. Still some time to see a bit more from Kapanen before rushing a trade. Great show guys! GO HABS GO!

  6. No way Dvorak stays healthy until trade deadline, trade him now

    Kapanen
    Beck
    Newhook

Can all fill in at 3 C

  7. Hot take We should trade Reinbacher while we still can. He was never liked from the beginning from the fans (and thats not his fault) and plus now the pressure of the MtL media is getting to him. He just has no factor to him. This fanbase will chew him alive.

  8. For a Dvorak trade to be justified Kapanen or Beck have to prove that they are better players before. It’s called fair competition.

  9. No rush to move forward since guys like Gally, Dach, Laine are somewhat fragile so you can assume you'll need backups!

  10. Kent will be smart and not force things. He saw what making the wrong move too early did to the last regime.

  11. We continue to hear from management and players that they want to be in "the mix" for a playoff position. Therefore the discussion concerning whether Kapanen makes the team should come down to the following. Which player gives the team a better chance to be in the mix? If it is Kapanen then let him play and lets not worry about the draft picks the team could get for Dvorak or Evans.

Habs have 9 picks in the 1st 4 rounds next year with 2 in the 1st and another 2 in the 2nd. There are not enough spots for all these picks so playing for example Dvorak in the hope of getting another 2nd round pick shouldn't be a concern.

  12. Why are so many people wanting to trade so quickly. All it will takes is 2-3 injuries too realize how beneficial one of the deepest talent pools to draw from will come in handy.

  13. Not so fast. The Kovacevic trade opened a spot for Mailloux and Reinbacher but it creates a hole in the right side. He was +11 and had the best contact. The trade wasn't necessary. The surplus is on the left side but in Kent we trust.

  14. I don’t like the idea of potentially having 3 rookies at forward next year with Kapanen, Beck and Demidov. And probably Mailloux and Reinbacher on D.

  15. Captain Obvious told me that if your top 10 in no particular order is Caufield, Suzuki, Slafkovsky, Dach, Newhook, Laine, Demidov, Beck, Hage, Kapanen, and if you are going to go with Florian and Tuch for grit on the 4th line, then there is no room for the guys you have crushes on like Roy, Mesar, Rohrer, RHP, Barré Boulet, Pezzetta, Evans, Dvorak, Gallagher, Armia, Anderson, Kidney, Farrell, and beloved Koivu. Captain Obvious also told me that Kent would become GM of the decade.

  16. I don’t believe the trade rumours, the kids that will start in Laval need or could benefit from some time there. KH manages assets. Dvo, Savy and Armia are all on contract years. They should have a good season and all 3 would have good trade value at the deadline. After deadline the kids can come over and finish the season.

  17. Wondering if we’ll see Trudeau this year. They’ll need to make a decision on him soon. Sorta like we did with Struble last year

  18. Slaf – Suzuki – Caufield
    Roy – Dach – Laine
    Anderson – Kapanen- Newhook
    Armia – Evans – Gally

    Pezzetta

My 13 fwds for the openning season

  19. A small winger at 20 can jump into the NHL and just play his game. The job of a defenseman at that age is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from lower levels. You have the best forwards on earth to contain, not skinny teenagers. Comparing Reinbacher to Michkov will take at least 4+ more seasons before it's fair.

  20. Do you consider Dvorak, Anderson and Gallagher part of the "talent pool"?
The fact that someone "tries really hard " doesn't make up for the fact that someone just can't play anymore.

  21. I’d love to see Evan’s on the 3rd and leave the 4th line center open for a rookie. It’s not that I don’t like Dvo but there’s nothing he does much better than Evan’s IMO, and Evan’s is far more likely to play a full season.

  22. I think Roy has shown enough to have deserved a “permanent” (obviously not if he has a string of horrible games) spot on the roster.

  23. Stop listening to one dude talk and calling it reports. Tony Marinaro says dumb shit every day. His opinion on Reinbacher is beyond irrelevant.
