This Could Be a Game-Changer for the Canadiens!

**Is It Possible That Kapanen Pushes Out Dvorak or Evans?**

Could Oliver Kapanen become a surprise roster challenger for the Montreal Canadiens, potentially overtaking Christian Dvorak or Jake Evans? Let’s dive in.

First off, while Patrik Laine may have been the most talked-about Finn among Canadiens supporters recently, it was Oliver Kapanen who stood out as the top Finnish player on the ice for the Habs. In fact, he may have been the best player overall for Montreal in that game.

Yes, Lane Hutson earned the first star, and deservedly so. His puck control, lateral movements, and dynamic feints, like the one that left Anthony Richard stumbling at the Flyers’ blue line, were a joy to watch. Hutson continues to electrify with his skill, but when it came to overall efficiency, Kapanen quietly surpassed him in this game.

  1. Hughes has said if players earn their spot room will be made. He at his younger age is already an improvement from either Dvorak or Evans. Rather waive Dvorak if trade isn't possible. He like Armia can work on his game and earn a call up after an injury. His coach in the SHL this season will be Olli Jokinen. Who has said he expects Kapaenen to make the Habs roster.

  2. Thanks for the daily Coach…while I don’t disagree with your assessment, I think it is still to early in preseason to get really excited…excited is ok, but really excited is premature.

  3. I would like Kappanen to work out, I think it would be way better for Joshua Roy to play with him over Dvorak, who has virtually no offensive ability.

  4. Just a little correction about Timro IK. Kapanen's father is GM of team and Olli Jokinen is head coach.

  5. Joe Sakitch? I never knew that's how you pronounce it… anywho, if Kapanen is the new Lekhonen, you killed my buzz right there, he can stay in Sweden.

  6. It's a good problem to have
Let's watch the rest of the Preseason before giving up on Dvo and Evans

  7. I have seen Kapanen play many times and IMO he is definitely NHL ready however I think it is better for his development to return to Timra to play 1st line minutes, PP and PK for one year rather than playing 3C on Habs and playing 12-14 minutes a game.

  8. I'm tired of this A,I. crap already and it's just the bigging. Now we have a lifetime of this BS ahead of us and no-one want's it except Tech industries. This way they can make us pay for the development!!!

  9. Yes… Kapanen is talented and a hard worker… I think he should be rewarded for his good performance =)

  10. If that game was typical example of what Kapanen has to offer, coaches & Co. have to seriously consider what to do. A pleasant surprise to me. If I were Hughes I'd be making a serious effort to make room.
