  1. Leafs pretty well iced their regular roster minus Matthews, Habs had none of their top 2 lines out there. The game was way closer than it should have been, I'd be a little worried if I was a Leaf fan. Either that or you got to give props to Montreal's prospects and AHL players.

Hutson was a stud out there!

  2. Maxpax should absolutely get a deal. Let's just pray it's not like Reaves or Tanev (JFC some of these guys will have been playing in the NHL before rookies who join the roster will have been born) to be fair though, I wouldn't be too bothered if maxpax was here at minimum for 3 years. Reminds me of Spezza in some ways — great leader for the rooks

  3. I think this is an irresponsibly made video that highlights how the Leafs have to deal with mole hill stories turned into mountains. It’s the preseason. It’s a play made hundreds of time without incident. Players and staff will undoubtedly discuss what happened and probably discuss the risk/reward of how to use this move going forward. End of story.

  4. I can't imagine having migraines and going out to get beat into the boards, not even for money.
Lets get all the bad luck out of the way early in the season. And this is bad luck, even if it was a dive.

  5. His head barely touch his leg. And the leg gave in the same direction as the head, acting like a cushion of sorts.. willie acting for a call

  6. So many of you in the comments clearly have never played hockey at a high level. Willy wasnt expecting the push while he was skating and he toe picked. Nobodies fault, but the push just wasnt necessary. You do that to prevent odd man rushes. There was no threat of an odd man rush on this one.

  7. Good way to get a roster spot on a team he doesn’t want to be on. Send him to Dallas to play with his brother. You know it’s what he wants.

  8. Robertson knows Nylander doesnt like playing D so he gave him a push to get his butt back there.

  9. Oh noooo…. our most overrated and overpaid player who refuses to play defense but wants to be hailed as a superstar centre is going to be out for a while? Noooooo…. and we may need to replace him with someone who actually WANTS to play hard and be worth the money? Now having said that Robertson was both the hero & villain last night.

  10. I hope Nylander is okay. A concession, or brain injury, is serious not only from the obvious effect but also from the possibility of an impact on reaction time, emotional control and/or cognitive ability. In a sport where processing something 1/100th of a second faster than other players makes you elite this can be very serious.
Not being a Leafs fan I like how Berube laid on the discipline for Robertson's bonehead play. Nice to see the Leafs remain the same.

  11. The Leafs should be more worried that they only won 2-1 when they had most of their top players in the lineup and they were playing against a team of mostly 4th liners and AHL players, and a goalie who's playing only his first complete NHL game. The Leafs are once again going to be a source of great entertainment this season for everyone who isn't a Leafs fan.

  12. Almost looked like he was trying to give him a boost. I remember Mario used to do it to jagr. Or maybe vice versa. If anyone has any clue what I’m trying to say
