@JFreshHockey on X analyzes Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele’s Struggles Together For Past 6 Seasons

“Heading into the 2024-25 season, the Jets are poised to start with Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele on the first line once again – without Ehlers.

This duo has not been successful, getting outscored and/or outchanced in each of the past six seasons. Will it work this time?”

One would have the think the players and coaches know these numbers, its a real head scratcher.
For the players to have more success apart too youd think they wouldnt want to play together

“I can change him.” – Arniel whispers affectionately

It’s no secret that not a lot of players out there want to play for the Jets, so I reckon it’s a cost of doing business type of thing. If Scheifele wants KFC on his line, it’s hard to say no, especially with the extension pending at the time.

Clearly they have a bad track record together from a defensive perspective. While I don’t expect much to change, I do think coaching can still salvage the two to an extent. Putting them both on the PK is a step in the right direction as far as I’m concerned.

People forget that this team wins games when these two are on a line together.
