No deal. Swayman has the 34th ranked "high danger" save percentage. When everything is fine, he looks elite. When the D doesn't do it's job though…more often than not, he's not bailing them out. He can't help out a mediocre D, he can only benefit from top level D. Why would you pay that guy the big bucks and cut corners elsewhere…if you know that's going to end up making your G less effective?
He still has a lot to prove. Never started a full season. Bad "high danger" save percentage. He also has a bad habit of giving up goals in the final minutes when the opponent has their G pulled. Makes you wonder how he handles the big moments…
i don't understand…if Shesterkin is going to "set the market" at 12 million, wouldn't it be in the Bruins best interest to sign Swayman long term before that happens?
They will probably sign him just before the home opening.
