That little Frenchie was never even close to being one of the best players in the league. He wasn’t even the best player on his team ever. He was good for being small, but there were a lot better smaller players than him!
The reason he’s coaching 14-year-olds is because he’s at the same eye-level as them! They got to put a stool out for him in the NHL when he talks to the players
french-speaking underdog HOFer with 1x Hart, 2x Art Ross, 1x Olympic gold and 1x Cup…. in montreal, that's a risk worth taking all day… he's obviously no Sheldon Keefe, but not a tomato can either…. they need him more than he needs them, so no pressure. he's got the hardware and a millionaire many times over and they're paying him 3x US$3m/season. wife and US-born kids can commute between montreal and connecticut in a few hours. the press will go easy on him and the fans accept the rebuild… they revere the player, to say nothing of the kids on the team. would slaf/demidov/lane/cole/suzu rather play for ducharme? fuqqin lol. no brainer…. the parade will follow the usual route
