I’m starting to feel like the Leafs really don’t want to send Cowan back to junior even if he’s not NHL ready.
I replied to someone with this yesterday but I would rather have Cowan as a 13th forward and practicing with the team and slowly give him his nine games until the World Juniors than have have him go back to a league he already dominated in and with him playing every preseason game so far wouldn’t surprise me if the Leafs feel the same way and trying to give him every opportunity to show he’s capable.

Pretty sure it’s good for his development to get this experience and build that hunger to keep improving.
He’s got the right ingredients and if he works at it and gets his opportunities, he’s going to have a great career.

Roster feels like the typical mid-preseason kind. No stars, very few starters
Surprised Mattinen is getting another start, but I guess being 6’5″ gets you a few extra 2nd chances
I think this game will be more entertaining than the last few though, since a lot of these guys are fighting for spots

Finally! Topi gets a look! I hope he gets a taste of NHL this year

Cool! I think this is the first showing for Abbruzzese, Tverberg, Niemela, and Akhtyamov.

At the bell centre tonight. Excited to see Cowan and Hildeby live for the first time, although the roster is more “Marlies” than I’d have expected. Let’s go kids! (32F and feeling so old💀)

Seems like they’re trying to see what Knies can do when he isn’t surrounded by as much skill as usual
