  1. If they’re trying to sell me on Mo fixing this, then no I’m not gonna support a team that is intentionally NOT doing everything that they can to fix this problem. I’ve been a fan since 1968, thick or thin they have been my team. They have been below average for a decade.

  2. 16:36 we have to remember that Mozeliak has truly made a ton of missteps with DeWitt's money..
had it not been for Jason Heyward not liking Mike Matheny, and thus rejecting Mo's offer
Mo would've given him one of the worst contracts in STL history.
The game has passed Mo by, especially the more power/control he gets….

Also, disappointed that Marmol and his staff will return… as there's always been
questions about the clubhouse atmosphere… and lack of leadership in general….

  3. So Katie Woo says they’re in for an overhaul. That means they’re in for an overhaul. Of course there will be seismic changes, because they have to address infrastructure. They just don’t need to fire a staff they set up to fail.

  4. I don’t get why anyone would be mad if they drop payroll. This team can compete. Dropping payroll means giving some of these prospects a good look in the majors. Now will the major league coaching staff help or not is a different question. Hopefully they will. But either way they are getting mlb playing time which is long overdue

  5. Mo has failed, no doubt. And Marol may not be your cup of tea. But this erosion has occured with the DeWitt' family's blessing. Maybe BDW finally realized they 've been throwing good money after bad. Another hale and farewell tour for a retiring Cardinal or a feel good story isn't enough to keep fans coming to the game. Wouldn't surprise me if DeWitt allowed "sources" to speak to Woo for her article as a way to soften the ground for the upcoming press conference and thechanges coming

    .

  6. 31:32 Whether it's fair or not, I don't think having Marmol in the dugout

will draw more fans to Busch in 2025…

Fans need (or want)… "a big name draw" or someone they feel familiar with (i.e. a Schumaker)…

I feel like fans feel zero connection to Marmol… he's kind of just "a guy"

    whether that's fair or not…

  7. They probably spent $100 million on ballpark village, and now want $500 million to renovate the stadium. Then, we get the revenue flow speech.? They have to know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. ONeill had to be gotten rid of, but Matz was penciled in the rotation? I love Goldschmidt, but last year, i said trade while he has worth. We will get nothing for Goldschmidt now, and got nothing for O'Neill. Most of us knew Mikolas was a big overpay when he first signed it. We got nothing for Dylan Carlson after he was a #1 prospect. Endless mistakes the last 5 years. DeWitt needs to have professional differences and tell Mo to retire now or your fired like Shildt.

  8. If they admit fault, be honest, and tell us it’s time to rebuild our beloved team, it’s time for us to be the best fans in baseball again and go support it. Not all will agree but that’s how I feel about it.

  9. Never trust an arrogant douche that wears a bow tie. Mozeliak and DeWitt have destroyed the proverbial cash cow. I won’t attend a game as long as Mozeliak or Marmol are around. I don’t care if they win 110 games.

  10. Hey, sir, welcome back. And mo is coming back. oli is coming back, and the fans are not coming back. It looks like i will miss a 2nd season of season tickets. And we all know this franchise will not spend money on any top-tier players. You know it, and we all know it great video sir

  11. Only if they start by getting rid of Mo, Ollie and most of the major league coaches for starters.

Put Bloom in charge and have a major shake-up in the front office.
If they keep Mo and Ollie, there will be no changes, just continued stupidity.

Trade Mikolas and Matz or put them in the bullpen.

Say goodbye to Lynn, Goldy and the other older players. Bring on the young players.

Put Luken Baker at first base/DH and let him play every day. Give this young man a chance to hit 30 to 40 home runs a year!!!

  12. Doesn’t seem like necessary changes are to come. Sad face. On the far side of changes I’d rather see: if Chiam doesn’t want Moz’job, give it to Kim Ng. Bottom line, Moz shown the door. Manager one of Francona/Madden or a youngster Bernie likes. On the field; 3B Gorman, with Donnie to rescue if he craters. SS Masyn 2B Wetherholt (same age as Pete Crow-Armstrong). 1B a mush-mash of Wilson/Luken/Burly, C Herrera with Crooks in the mix. Staff Matthews, Gray, Fedde, Pallante and one of Mcgreevy/Matz/stuck with Mikolas. Dreaming for the signing of an ace. Big decisions on Helsley to come. Hoping we can get something for Goldenado. Have a great off season. Hopefully it goes quickly…. But it never does. One more thing:weary of kids coming up raking and then fading. The MLB staff is to blame.

  13. People already were calling for MO’s job. You really wonder what fans will think if the Cardinals bring Mo back in light of the story that was dropped? I already know.. it’ll be negative. If they’re smart they’ll cut dead weight and make Heimbloom the head man.

  14. Anything less than the departure of Moz & Oli will be met with resounding disappointment from the majority of fans. Period.

As far as the “limited” possibilities Mo had with the roster, whose fault was that?

  15. But Brenden, if fans can identify the issue with player development then why couldn’t the team see it?

Hate to say it but it appears Mo fell in love with his press clippings.

  16. According to Bally Sports Midwest, Mikolas has 11 quality starts in 22 starts or 25.
Yesterday , he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings.
Some team might trade for him if Cards agree to pay the other team at least 9 million.
Gibson had two good games in a row then he had a terrible game versus the rockies.
Nola is 13 wins 8 losses.
I think.he is the one making 17 million a season.

  17. After watching todays 6-5 loss No way Oli should be back. the sloppy play , poor fundaments terrible baserunning . After watching that type of play now for 2 years that's long enough for him and his coaching staff to have cleaned up this type of play. and also I believe he has handled young players terrible. (Walker, Scott and others)

  18. MO at least has some massive, terrific Cards accomplishments to be considered on how he is too finish out. Oli…, come on. What a complete disaster – only brought on board to push the game analytics. The Cards are prime example of over analytics gone bad. Look at the hitting… yikes. Put Oli in the minor league admin and move on – maybe he can come back down the road more seasoned. They were fine when Shildt managed from the dugout – balancing analytics and old school baseball. Luckily, the division is so bad they can easily bounce back into contention. If Oli is brought back I will not watch an inning of Cards next year.

  19. It’s astonishing to me that there’s been no reporting until now on the coaching shortfalls given how stark they are relative to other teams. Seems the media could be doing a better job at inquiring into those issues given how long the player development decline has been occurring. I’d really like to know how the Cardinals scouting and player development budgets compare to other organizations and how that has changed over time.

  20. If we are being honest what is taking place in STL the last two yrs is the curse of Dan McLaughlin. Until he is back in booth we will suffer.

  21. Rebuild completely. Admit that we aren't where we need to be to compete for a Championship. Hoping for a divisional title with aging pitchers and aging veterans on corners is not a good recipe.

  22. 10 HITS!
Think about it. Just 10 more timely over 161 games this season and the Cardinals have 92 wins and this is a completely different discussion. This idea that the organization has become a terrible mess is just a narrow perspective of the reality of MLB baseball. Look at all the organizations that had a worse season than the Cardinals. How many coaches / instructors / labs do the Giants have? They Rays? They Red Sox?

And talking about player development….. the minors developed Gorman. They developed Walker. They developed Nootbar. All have had successful seasons in MLB. Their regression has NOTHING to do with minor league player development. Their regressions happened after good seasons on the MLB team.

This season was a failure because of an offense, that almost every single one of the current critics…… thought was a very good offense.

I think the first improvement has to take place at the MLB level. The minors keep giving them MLB ready players…. and the MLB team cannot keep them playing well and take them to the next level.

  23. Cards should invest in good solid players, among them Mike Trout can go and have him only as a designated hitter, another very important one is Brent Rooker, he is an excellent homerun hitter and RBI, he is a good prospect, in addition to either Vladimir Guerrero or Fernando Tatis Jr. and look for 2 quality starters, they can go for Skubal and Seth Lugo and bring back Jack Flaherty, keep Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado, expel Oliver Mármol forever and Coaches, both for batting and pitching, bring in Yadi Molina as manager and Albert Pujol as hitting coach.

  24. Great episode guys, thanks! Should be an interesting presser on Mon. I'm with you guys, I think Ollie and staff will be back. Honestly I kinda expect Goldy to be back, too. Lynn? He gone. Gibson is truly unknown, just depends on what they are thinking on McGreevy, I think. After Katie's piece, I imagine that the biggest topic will be them announcing a major overhaul of the farm system.

  25. We should all know there won't be any big or major changes..
Cards should of never been in the position to begin with
    Front office failed big time.

  26. Masyn Wynn, Brendan Donovan, Arenado, and Burleson are the only posituon players that need to stay. Goldy on a one year deal ONLY if we upgrade our starting pitching roster substantially. The ownership clearly does not respect the fans.

  27. In short . . .
Under Mozeliak's philosophical approach, trying to be play in real time .
You get what looks like a circus of disgruntled clowns.
If Dewitt is still ignorant to this, then be prepared for another failure in 2025.

  28. Oh & btw … If Dewitt was really tune into long-term competitive success, they try like hell to get Paul to retire into the front office.
Remember this hunch I have , that Paul Goldschmidt ends up a very successful GM & possibly even Vp of a club.
