  1. hi gil on a slightly different topic. I was born on the year of the islanders inception a coincidence , but its not a coincidence i have been following the team very closely since birth practically. Now i have to say its a shame the islanders have not retired pat lafontaine's # 16. I know about the fall out with wang , but then again wang was the worst owner in the history of professional sports .Ofcourse i remember all of our dynasty greats , potvin bossy trottier smith etc. But in terms of PURE TALENT im going to say NO PLAYER in the history of the nhl was as good as Pat.Including gretzky and all our dynasty greats.

Bossy had the best shot in the history of the nhl but did he have the razzle dazzle the pure finesse that pat did? NO. Pat made opposing defenders look foolish. He could literally stick handle past the entire other team and then deke out their goaltender ALL WHILE MAKING IT LOOK EASY. He was literally a magician on skates. WATCH THIS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MirYI3M03WU&t=69s . Specifically watch #5 and #3 at the nassau county coliseum. Do you see how he made the third one look so effortless? I know the pavel bure's of the world and today connor mcdavid are very talented but i mean they still are just a step behind patty in terms of pure talent. I've seen connor mcdavid score some great goals in which he dekes past 2 or 3 guys but then he looks exhausted NOT EFFORTLESS like Pat did. Pat was just awesome.

  2. Went to UBS tonight and some things that stood out…Duclair and Horvat played like two guys trying not to get injured, Pageau and Holmstrom really got pushed off the puck, Tsyplakov is not fleet of foot but his hockey IQ is high and his physicality will help the second line, the PK and the PP both need a lot of work.😊

  3. Typslakov has very good puck control. he's also smart out there I'm def alot happier with what I'm seeing from last years camp. These guys look like there def working alot harder conditioning is everything

  4. I say we go with foudy we gotta make changes I like how foudy is playing and not for nothing we need these guys to battle it out for a spot look how hard rielly and McLean played last year

  5. As long as I don’t see Engvall on the team I’m happy, it’s really nice to see guys push themselves hard to make the team, a healthy Sorokin no injury, we can be a Cinderella team and go deep in the playoffs, Thank you Gil , LGI !!!!

  6. Gil, If Isles waived Engvall and nobody picked him up what would his buyout look like since he still has 6 years left on contract?

  7. Good 🌄 Gil, how are you? Maxim Tsyplakov actually looked good on the 2nd line. He lacks speed but makes up for it with a good shot and can throw his weight around. Liam Foudy has had a solid preseason. Pierre Engvall just got a ⏰️ up 📞 when he got scratched. The Islanders beat The Flyers 4-3 at UBS Arena in an all-around effort; however, they're still having issues with the PK. HAPPY 🎂, COLIN MCDONALD. I got to tell you, until very recently, I always thought a hat trick was when a player scored 3 goals in a game, which it is. What I didn't know was there a Gordie Howe style hat trick a goal, an assist, and a fight. Also, I 👀 the special 100 GOATS OF THE NHL. It was long because they featured players from back when the league was the original 6, and of course, they had BOSS, TROTS, DENNY, SMITTY, AND PAT LAFONTAINE. It was nice for 6 hours. Hear from you later, Gil, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  8. I’m gonna look at it like this from watching the jets I feel I rather have a great coach and an average roster than a great team and a terrible coach. Case in point jets have a really good roster but can’t put a game together, why? Poor coaching. On the other hand islanders have an average roster but (hopefully) a good coach and in turn can hopefullly get more out of them than expected. I already see a difference in the islanders with Roy in their own end they get out quicker and organized. So I’m hoping that’s a good sign. I have no hope for Engvall he’s just terrible. PP needs work still. I was so happy not to see Engvall on the ice Foudy and Gauthier need to be considered on the roster over that useless player
