  1. Coming from a Sabres fan it feels very familiar to me how everyone is so high on the Wings it’s pretty much how everyone felt about Buffalo going into last season. Very realistic to believe that a decent amount of guys regress but are still good enough to be in the hunt. I personally believe Buffalo and Ottawa are gonna be the 2 battling it out for a spot. Either way our teams times will come soon enough

  2. Honestly Im surprised with the out of town scoreboard the Flyers didn't know about it but oh well. Hopefully Detroit beats the flyers up for costing them playoffs last year. LOL Im JK I dont support violence for sports.

  3. Eh. It's year six. Holland didn't do anything to attempt to rebuild, But maybe that's just me.

I'm not worried, not in the slightest. There will be ebbs and flows, especially since we didn't draft first or second overall since the rebuild began. And there's no way we could've made the splash people wanted us to make on 1 July and still be able to afford Raymond and Seider. My only expectation for the team is they actually *compete*. We saw far too many times last year where they took a lead only to give it up, or they came out flat and never recovered, or they left Lyon out to fend for himself. If we clean some of that up, we'll be fine.

  4. What's your opinion on a possible trade for Swayman? He would definitely fix goaltending and partially fix the defense but considering how much it would cost and having 2 very good prospects in the system. I can see an argument for both sides

  5. Per Moneypuck, last season at 5 on 5, the Redwings were
    28th in xGoals%
    28th in Corsi%
    29th in Fenwick%
30th in xGoals for (8th in goals for)
    28th in x goal differential
1st in goals for above expected (14 more than second place)
2nd in shooting% on shots on goal
1st in shooting% on unblocked shots
    1st in shooting% all shots
31st in high danger shots for
30th in medium danger shots for

I’d be incredibly surprised if the Red Wings don’t regress quite a bit offensively, and I can’t really say the defense or goaltending really improved.

  6. almost every team in the division got better this offseason and/or their prospect are expecting to take the next step so its gonna be really hard to make the playoffs for the rebuilding teams

  7. Yzerman screwed up getting virtually nothing for Walman. With regards to Walman, I think LaLonde had it in for him. Of he’s pissed at you, the player will get very little chance.

  8. Great video. Wild to think that Redwings could go a decade without making the playoffs. Imagine a scenario where both Shanahan and Yzerman get canned in the same summer. More likely than either of these teams winning a cup in next five years, sadly.

  9. Wings might sneak in, but so what. They still aren't even close to winning a series. Next year is when things need to start happening as the books will be cleared of some boat anchor contracts and Yzerman will need to do some real GMing to fix the D

  10. if Patrick Kane doesn't play w DeBrincat or Larkin – and preferably he should be playing w both, as that was by far their best line last year and it turned Kane into Matthews as a goal scorer – the Red Wings will be a bottom 10 team in the NHL. they are stranding him completely to favor Lucas Raymond. it is an all time dumb move. they will be terrible. his line will not score at all. the overstacked first line will give up a ton defensively as it did last year. Lalonde is an incompetent.

  11. Yzerman is brutally over rated. He got extremely lucky with draft picks in tampa but his ability to trade for and sign talent is the drizzling shìts.

  12. They need more defense! If they want to reach their objective Yzerman has to be active in trades/FA signings, because they won't get too far with only one very good d-man (Seider)
