I’ll preface to say that I absolutely don’t believe the rumor.

Only shared this to see what the community thinks of how absolutely ridiculous the Bruins fanbase are around this trade possibility.

[Also, take a look at this thread on the Bruins sub.](https://imgur.com/a/vuRRpNS)

Thankfully, this is only a rumor and nothing is verified. Makes no sense for the Ducks to be going after Swayman especially with Dostal getting closer and closer to being the no. 1 goalie for the team going forward.

  3. ducks won’t need a goalie capable of taking them to the cup for at least 3 years, no sense in paying for one now. but you never know

  4. The rare trade that would make absolutely zero sense for either team.

Obviously this is false because Zegras would be thrown in as well. Everyone knows how much we want to get rid of him.

But in all seriousness, I would love a Swayman/Dostal pairing for the foreseeable future. But this isn’t happening. If they allegedly wont pay Swayman 8mil they are definitely not paying Gibson his 6.5mil.

The Ducks don’t pay for 8 million dollar goalies. It’s not logical since we have so many young players that are going to demand a lot of money.

If this was next season and we were in the same situation I think I would go for it.

As is, I think the Ducks will be picking high in the draft, and the forwards at the top of 2025 draft are looking like they’ll be superstars. We also probably want to see if Dostal can replicate his out-of-the-NHL results in the NHL. Sure he was awful last season, but so was everyone else on the team.

There’s too much uncertainty for us to go after a goalie that is going to cost that much IMO. I want to say yes, but probably too soon for us.

Also that contract is a monster.

I’d rather Pat Verbeek stay as far away as possible from this Neely and Sweeney botch job.
