Predatory hit. Unsuspecting player, late, first point of contact was the head. He escaped with a fine in Leaf game. Now this. He will be watching for 5-6. Repeat offender. He's a tough kid. But thought he was smarter. Guess not.
Interesting interpretation. Personally, its no games for me. The head contact comes from Stutzle himself. Arber makes initial and primary contact with Stutzle's hands and while the elbow pops out, the views from these angles show Xhekaj's shoulders remaining level. It isn't till after the contact that his shoulder rolls over, as inertia continues after contact is finished. The delayed head whip from Stutzle makes it all look much worse than it is. More shocked from his stick hitting his helmet then anything.
There is another angle that clearly shows no part of Xhekaj caught Stuzle in the head yet you think a 4 game suspension is warranted? It should have gone to review like the 5 min major called on Greig earlier and reduced to 2 minutes as the evidence available from all angles doesn't warrant 5. The league is playing with fire if clear evidence is ignored sometimes while accepted at other times.
I really think this hit wouldn't have been such a big deal had Xhekaj not been the topic of discussion (and shouldn't even be on the ice) from Saturday.
Xhekaj is an idiot. I had respect for Habs fans, but they've been incredibly unhinged. I had sympathy for when Laine went down but considering how toxic the Montreal fan base is I could care less now. Fuck Xhekaj and fuck the Habs fan base.
What you've shown repeatedly is Stuzzle running into the back of Xhekaj as he stands upright, not extends as you say. Late, but clean. Interference 2mins. Greigs is worse and he knew it and finally relented to Dach, taking his punishment.
3-5 games is fair. This is a blindside hit targeting the head. If Xhekaj keeps the elbow tucked, he's late but it's ok. The jokers in here that are calling this a clean hit or a dive are the same people who want Pare suspended 10 games for the hit on Laine.
