[Amanda Stein] Jack Hughes let the cat out of the bag, although not unexpected, that Seamus Casey will make his NHL debut tomorrow in Prague against the Sabres. Sheldon Keefe then confirms officially that Seamus is indeed in tomorrow for his debut.

Good on Casey for making the most of the openings on defense and playing his way into the opening lineup. Didn’t expect him to make the squad right out of his first camp but he’s looked good and the team clearly likes and trusts what they’re seeing out of him already.

I am definitely surprised, my guess was he would never play for the team. I figured he would be boxed out and eventually traded given his size and everyone in front of him. Good for him, hope it goes well.

Good for everyone, except his family and friends. For those wanting to see his first NHL game, a trip to Prague may not be in the budget.

Great opportunity to just get experience at this level for the kid. Very little pressure to stay on the NHL squad once Hughes is back from injury.

  4. Really hoping he’s what Ty smith was supposed to be
