Hoping for the comeback story of the century, and Val being in even better(completely sober) form than the Cup winning year.

It’s so tough. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. What comes next? I desperately want him to work out but it’s very difficult to not have my doubts.

  3. D-Broncos

You may as well take a chance on him. You aren’t winning a cup without him. Him at 6 AAV is an insane deal. There’s a possibility he could have led the nhl playoffs in goals

  4. Observant-

You can care about the person and understand that he’s a cancer in the locker room. Surely there’s a trade to be made somewhere that keeps both him and his teammates happy.

He will have a lot to prove and with a roommate helping him off
    Ice, I think he’ll
Be paying back his Avs team
    And fan with his skills
On the ice. Clean Val = Avs superpower.

his…. decisions… cost Zach Parise and Andrew Cogliano their last shot at a cup. Some things dont get forgiven.

  7. slabzzz710

Say what you want but we arguably wouldn’t have a cup without him

Yeah I dunno. I feel for him. But his selfish bullshit cost the team two postseason runs. Based on some of the comments made by other players last year I don’t think he is particularly liked right now. We will see what happens, but I have low faith.

I hope he gets clean and stays clean but I also think we should move on. 6 million 70 pt player may sound amazing to have but it doesn’t mean jack shit when that 6 million 70 pt player isn’t around for the playoffs (x2). I think Drouin signing for so cheap points to Avs having one of those under the table agreement things where Drouin signs for cheap now but gets a big contract later when Nuke is off the books.

I’d absolutely welcome him back with open arms…but if he can’t stay clean this season, then I at least hope the avs can shred his contract and not waste a dime on him.

No one even knows what he is dealing with, so can we stop with the labelling of him as “selfish”? I have my doubts it has anything to do with party drugs, and inclinations and it is pain killers.

Did we all seemingly forget that he played the entire Cup run on a god damn broken foot and literally had to get wheeled out after they won?

I also know that many won’t believe this but I know someone who one of Darcy Kuemper’s best friends, was in his wedding party. He flew in to party with the team after they won the Cup and passed some stories along. He never mentioned anything about Val doing a bunch of drugs, but he did mention that Sam Girard was biggest fiend for it. And Girard coincidentally went into the player assistance program last year too. Unrelated, but what he did mention about Val is that he is “the richest player in the NHL”… something about his “Russian ties to mining operations” lol

    Everyones addicted to something. Empathy!

Tbh i’m not gonna be mad anymore as soon as he scores a goal

Until he proves otherwise, it’s foolish to work him into a central role on the team. Play broke down way too much when he was absent, we need to build plays that don’t rely so heavily on him being in front of the net doing the dirty work. Either find someone else to fill his role or restructure the plays. He might be skilled, but he’s a gamble that has cost us two post season runs with his irresponsibility.

    Nope.

Still mad, angry and filled with rage at Nichuskin.
