Oh man, really tough call… Watching both games, the Kreider hat trick seemed less probable with a lot more at stake. If we lost that game, I don’t know if we would have recovered to not lose Game 7 and suffer all summer knowing we got reverse swept. Once Pete got the count to 3-1, part of me thought he was gonna deliver. Not for a second did I expect Kreids to bury 3 goals in the 3rd… So I’m gonna say Kreids.

Kreider is better because I prefer the sport of ice hockey

In the Rangers sub I think Kreider takes it but I vote for Petey

Matteau’s famous goal would be remembered a lot less today if the Rangers didn’t go on to win the Stanley Cup, think about that.

Krieder because a hatrick is obviously much less common but the moment was huge for Pete considering the situation and how desperately he needed a clutch hit.

Aaron Boone’s walk off in extras against Boston 😬

  7. The pitcher was tipping his pitches Jomboy has a fantastic break down of it. So with that advantage I’m going Kreider. Yankees fan of course.

The Alonso moment is greater since it was one moment not 3.

I’d say it’s the same. If the Mets go on to win the whole thing then it’s going to be looked at as one the greatest parts of their run (just like the Kreider hat trick would have been had we won).

  10. Kreider because Rangers fans aren’t Mets fans, we are Yankees fans.

Maybe i’m biased but I think it’s Kreider and it’s not particularly close. Pete delivered a big hit after Lindor and Nimmo put together great at bats and started momentum. Kreider took a team that looked lifeless (and looked lifeless for the game before) and created the momentum himself and delivered 3 times. This also catapulted the Rangers into the ECF while knocking off the favorite to win it all vs the Mets making it out of the wildcard round to a team far from the favorites. I think also objectively a hat trick is more impressive than a home run, not to mention it being a natural hat trick.

  12. Pete Alonson bc it was the 9th inning and a loss would have ended the Mets season. In theory, the Rangers could still have won game 7.

Home runs happen every game. Natural hattricks in a single period do not.

As a die hard for both teams, it’s Alonso. Pete has had a bad year and has not come up clutch with RISP all season. It’s also his walk year before hitting free agency. What he did was never done in MLB history. Plus, Rangers had an opportunity for game 7. Kreids’ may have been more impressive but Pete’s meant more
