I completely forgot about Tuomaala. Assume he’s only still here since they can’t send an injured player down to the minors.

Hmm… this is practice distribution is starting to nudge into meaningful territory.
I really didn’t think Luchanko making the opening night roster was likely based on his camp, but if Danny, Torts and the coaching staff DO think they can actually develop him in the NHL, I’m all for it.

I tend to agree with Charlie that Jett hasn’t totally impressed but still wouldn’t be upset if he makes the team. However, we are not Danny, Torts, and Jonesy who see him every day. If they like his metal maturity and physical skillset who am I to bitch about it? I hope he gets off to a quicker start than Coots did after being thrown right in.
Luckily, our 3rd line is better skill-wise than Coots had it back in 2012 and 2013. He should be just fine if he stays here.

The 9 game trial is official in my mind at this point, lets see what happens!

I’ve never played hockey. How big of a deal is it that Michkov is playing the opposite side wing that he is used to

It just seems to me like this team always needs just one more highly skilled, elite player, like Gerry Mayhew.

Not a huge fan of starting coots with michkov over frost. The age gap is just too big. There’s no hope that they could develop chemistry for once the rebuild is done. Frost should be right in the middle of his prime when michkov is entering the years where becomes one of the best in the keague

Love Michkov with TK. Hope that top line sticks.

Bad deal for Catesy. That injury last year really set him back. He seemed to be on track to cementing a role on the team, and now that seems tenuous.

I think it’s also important to keep in mind that Torts likes to shuffle lines during the game. Last year he mixed and match sometimes as early as the 2nd shift. If he sees or thinks a few players are carrying play, he’ll put them out on a line together.
